Hey y'all. I have a 1998 Bravada All Wheel Drive with an NP4 transfer case. I have a lot of miles on it and I have begun to hear a rumble at 60 MPH and above. I took it to a transmission shop and they told me the chain was slapping the case. I don't think that is the rumble, in fact, I don't think they even looked at the car. I went to the dealer to price a new transfer case and they discontinued it back in 2001. Has anyone out there ever rebuilt one? It doesn't seem to be much to them. Is there another one that would substitute for mine? Are there reputable rebuilders out there I could buy a rebuilt one from? Also, sometime back the light came on for the transfer case but eventually just went off. That kind of worries me also. Any advice would be helpful.

Sorry, this is a forum for the 2002+ Trailblazer, Envoy, Bravada vehicles - the GMT360 platform. You've got a GMT330. Unless somebody accidentally owned a 1998 model, it's not our specialty. You may share components with the S-10, a GMT325 platform.

Recommend you join http://www.s10forum.com/forum/ and poke around in the 2nd gen section. That's your vehicle.

Welcome, but as the roadie said most people on here have no idea whats up with your truck as its completely different than ours. I think only the transmission is the same between the old Bravadas and the GMT360 Bravadas...

Check out that other site, should be able to get you some answers!
