STEALTH SS

My SS kicked ass tonight . I made an unscheduled stop at the track tonight(Raceway Park , NJ ) on my way home from having dinner with my girlfriend . Truck is all-wheel drive , had 3/4 of a tank of fuel , and my 300lb body driving , estimated race weight 5000+lbs  I was close to the track , the air was cold and I had some time to kill so I headed over to the track . It wound up being a good move as I wound up with a new best time of 13.507 at 100.35 with a 1.98 60ft .
The cold air was good for making HP but there was a constant 20+ mph head/cross wind  . Anytime you set a new best it's a good feeling but here's what made the night even more enjoyable , out of all runs made , I only had one car run quicker than me , and I was the quickest/fastest truck out of about 10 other trucks that included a supercharged Ford Lightning (13.51) and a modded Silverado SS , a Dodge Hemi pickup with a custom blower set up (13.9) , and I took out a Mustang and two other rice rockets , I did get beat by a turbo ricer that ran a 13.0 to my 13.50 . The TBSS was drawing a big crowd in the staging lanes for the two hours I was there , the SS definitely earned some respect tonight .My mods are a Vector tune , stock replacement K&N filter(e-1009), Magnaflow muffler , and an I-6 Trailblazer torque converter . I need to get some additional runs in as I definitely haven't found the sweet spot of the converter yet , it feels great on the street , and flashes to 3000rpms , but it didn't pick up the 60ft like I thought it would , I 've spoke to a few members about it and it seems like a 3600 stall may be a better choice .I went with the I-6 converter because it was reasonable( 200.00 ) , and installation was free , I can still tow with it , and it's a GM piece .I may be sending the ecm/tcm back to Vector for some tweaks to the shift points , may have them add some timing down low , and take out some additional torque management which could be caused by the new converter . Overall , It was a great night and I spanked a cammed 6-speed LS1 Camaro on the way home from the track .:D I may try to run the truck again on Tuesday night at another track , hopefully without a head wind , lighter race weight , and a better launch .
