Thats right folks, I just heard through the grapevine that BLUBYU ran an incredible 12.6 at well over 106mph with just three mods!!

1. Vector Motorsports Tune
2. Factory Replacement K&N
3. Torque Converter

I also heard he put the hurt on an SRT-8 as well; I know I'll be waiting anxiously to hear the whole story!! :)

Mike was expecting to run 12.7's with only the converter added.
If he was spraying, even with a 50 shot was pretty disappointing.

Holy Crap, that is awesome. I would never have guessed they would have that much potential. I saw in the jeep forum there saying it must suck that the trailblazer SS crowd has to do so much just to beat them. Not sure what there problem is but what's wrong w/ mods on a performance vehicle. To me the potential of a vehical (mods) has alot to do with it's desirability. It seems that the SS has tons of potential. Why be satisfied w/ stock performance. Haven't had much experience w/ automatic vehicles so how this application affecting drivabilty and gas mileage?

:rotfl: :rotfl: A K&N, PCM Tune, and Converter puts the SS ~.6-.8 seconds in front of the GC-SRT8. Never realized that's a "lot" of mods to the Jeep crowd. :D

Congrats Mike , That's one fast SUV for less than 1500.00 worth of bolt-ons . That 3600 stall is the real deal , I wish I could run it , but it's not an option for me , I need to be able to tow the Vette occasionally to some out of state races . Next time out elevens will be yours , maybe for safety you should switch to a 100 wet shot .

Driving around town really isn't that bad. The truck sounds like it has more
gear. Run about 2-300 rpms higher!

Shift extensions are 500 rpm higher. The ss3600 is a great nos converter. With slicks the truck should get some stupid 60' ##s. I notice a little with the yank the truck isn't moving til 1800 rpm, 2-300rpms thru the gears higher and when you launch from the dig hard no speedo:duh:

LOL The crazy things is the SRT8 is a bad ass SUV!! I'm not knocking them.
I like the bolt ons for the LS1-2-6 type cars and trucks. I'm sure with a tune the SRT8 will run 12.90's.

I'm not knocking the trucks either, they are damn cool. Not for me styling or value wise, but still very cool. My biggest problem is the unusually high number of owners/worshipers who are complete tools.

You have too purchase the Yank direct from them now. Guess they cut out the dealer thing. I actually bought mine from LS1 Speed Tom Izzo 2 weeks before the new way of ordering. Call Yank speak to Dave Meyers 775-826-9955 believe there out of Arizona. But no you can't tow with the converter I have I'd just ask Dave which converter would best suit your need. But remember this converter is nothing with out a tune. Have to bump that torque managment up!!

I just keep laughing at how many times I hear "If you don't like the SRT8..." when I in fact have stated on their boards I DO like it and just have a problem with several owners/lovers. The usual replies are "go away" and "troll", sprinkled with some 16 year old testosterone-driven idiot insults. I've yet to have someone reply to any of my posts on ANY SRT8 board and talk facts. Always insults. Too bad, I think talk like that drives away a lot of good people.

I don't like the fact that there were so many questioning whether you actually ran that fast! Then they acuse you of bench racing, but they think they know how fast you should run with your mods. They say that an SRT-8 will run faster with the same mods, I say "Bring it!" :m2:

Lots of pouting by a select few over at that "other" site. But oh well. That's their perogative. I'm still not sure why they're getting so wound up because someone has run a much faster time (with minimal mods) than them (stock). Did they think it wouldn't happen? Heck we've already proven that with just a tune the TB-SS is very competitive against the GCSRT (VMS-tuned I walked one at freeway speeds, BluByU's 13.3 track-time w/ just the VMS tune, and others here like TonyGXP have run low 13's stock). This should be their wake-up call to start modding themselves, and then let the FUN really begin!

Just keep running the outstanding times, and let the timeslips speak for themselves.

yeah I get a kick out of them. First they bitched I went 12.6 NA and now that stopped talking about that now they want a video on the 12.1 nos run
cause they say that faster than a new ZO6 don't know where there getting the ZO6 info from but you'd have to be in the brakes too run a 12.1@113:duh:

If someone who has no idea how to launch a 2 wheel drive Godzilla like the Z06 takes one to the tracks I can see running 13s or 14s all night long b/c you will just be blowing the tires up...but for them to use that as a base line for the Z06 is just ignorant.:duh:

I just posted over there watch the flaming begin. It is a ridiculous crowd that think if it isn't an SRT8 it can't be doing what we say we are. Check the post it should get some reposnes for sure........ Love it when people talk out of their arses..... :rotfl:

I can tell you the what they'll say. IN MY SRT8 VOICE well we didn't buy are trucks to race or tow or stuff. Yes we paid more but we don't need all the aftermarket parts to make us fast. We run 13.2-13.3 stock don't talk to us anymore you can't win:weird: :rotfl:

Wow, these things have serious potential! What is the fastest AWD anyone has seen? What were you matched up with that you pulled 2.2 and 2.34 seconds on each pass? Nice work, by the way!

Everyone is slamming us but I slam back and they threaten me with a banning and close the thread. I was over there stating facts and then the try and call me out so I slam back and ban time. Oh well whats the difference it not like I cruise the site daily if thats what they decide to do.... I back our product and thats that.

Just I get tired of people talking crap about things they have no idea about. He couldn't of done this with just a tune, TC, CAI and street tires? He would need drags!!! talk about people with no understanding of modding a vehicle. Oh well I PM'd the moderator as well that warned me and told him why didn't warn the others and called me out? A little biased if I say so myself. :p

That has to be record time for banning :rotfl: .

A little over 2 hours...... Guess the Administrator didn't like my PM to him. :rotfl: too funny
I bet that was faster than their SRT8

Must tell you all a little story went too run the turbo busa last nite at VMP dragstrip. Actually was called back because my SS window acted up on my wife. My best friend that we've buildt a 98 Formula for fun at the track stayed. The weather was kinda so-so 75 degrees and humid too. Well back to the story. Him and I always comment about the staging lane gossip. He said everyone was cool about there cars/trucks etc....expect for a...Yes you know it SRT-8 JEEP owner lol. He ran 13.3-13.5 at 102-103 so my friend approaches this guy "hey nice truck I have a friend that owns a TBSS" the guy barks back this will wear that out. Friend laughs and say the SS goes 12's very consitent. Of course "that thing has to be super modded". Friend just:dielaugh: and walks away.

Nice, and you only have, what like $1500-2000 invested in mods? By my calculations, that is about 6K less (at least) than a SRT-8.:D
