OK, I thought I was nuts, so I got out my tape... Sitting in the garage, I could swear my truck was leaning towed the passenger side. I got out my tape and the passenger side sits about and inch and a quarter lower than the drivers side. Is this the case with all of them? I know the Vettes sit this way to allow for the load of the driver.

Hey man, I actually had the same problem... I drove my ss all the way from delaware to atlanta--->to florida and finally back to atlanta... when i parked it in my garage i noticed and had the same problem with the lean... I took it to Jim Ellis Chevrolet in Atlanta and they said it was off...meaning the passenger side was lower then supposed to be.... i have been told that the driver side was supposed to sit a little bit higher but obviously mine was more than it was supposed to... they mechanic that did it was the one that specialized with corvettes and they told me he was doing some paperwork that was going to be sent to headquarters because this was the first they saw like this... hope this helps!!:)

they are all like this. make sure rear sits even you can adjust the air bags.
mine had 32 miles on it when i lowered it (now has 80) and with lowering springs it sits pretty much even.

Thanks for the feedback guys!! Makes sense now. I'm gonna be taking it in for the fog light brackets as soon as they come in, I'll have the dealer adjust it then.

NORCAL- Your SS is really looking great now, those headlights really set off the monochromatic look with the silver. Hmm, I might need to rethink my color choice and get silver instead.:undecided Aghhh, too many choices!!!

Has anyone gotten this problem fixed? I bought mine in Dec '05 and have over 10,000 miles on it and still leans to passenger side. very noticable.

I think I have the same issue. I thought it was my imagination because of the single tailpipe and SS badge so I didn't check it. I'm supposed to be taking it in tomorrow for the brackets so I'll have them check it.

I was at the dealer so long today I didn't press the issue about the lop sidedness. I got the brackets on, center console lubed, alignment and I was there for four hours. I've got the service rep looking into my seat issue too. I mentioned the stance to them but since it too four hours and I originally came in for just the brackets and they did the other stuff too I just left so I'll bring it up again next time if it dosn't get better.
My dealer in Rhode island said there is a shock problem in the right front. He also said he has one on order for me and when it comes in it will be replaced.

Is there actually a recall on it like you said in your title? If not there should be. For the life of me I can not figure out why it would be made to sit like that. Mabey to counter the drivers weight, but what happens when there is a passenger or luggage? It doesn't sound right to me.

You can check it yourself. Just measure from the fender lip to the ground on both sides...

Mine came off the lot leaning about 1 inch lower on the passengers side and the mechanic notified me that over half the TBSS they had come through the lot suffered the same problem.
Make a long story short, I was told to drive the first 500 hundred miles to see if it balanced itself out and now after 2 seperate trips to the dealer for this and 4800 miles on the odometer, I measure it to be about a half each lower on the drivers side now. The only explanation I have received is "factory error" whatever that means:confused: ! Maybe three trips will be the charm!
My dealer told me there is a shock on order for me. If you want to really check for yourself hit your onstar. :)

I personally took that pic in person and that ss was on a slight grade, it looks worse than it is.

You guys are right, it is on a grade. But look at where the rear valance is in relation to the rear tires. You can see more of the tire on the driver's side than you can on the passenger side... I swear, I think mine is getting worse. I'm gonna have it checked the next time I take it in for service.

Z06 Tom and etal...
I know what you folks are talkin' about. We got two TBSSs in last week, one sold, the other is in inventory. The vehicle in inventory has a noticeable list downward at the right rear of the vehicle.
In the service manual, there is diagnostic information for air leakage and air spring sensor calibration. The air suspension schematics shows a left rear and right rear air suspension sensor(s) These sensors can be calibrated to their proper setting, but are not adjustable. GM does state that the air suspension system, when off, (parked) can deflate up to 1/2" in temperatures of 68 degrees and up and up to 1.0" in temperature conditions of 68 degrees and less, both over a 24 hour period.
Does the vehicle trim height correct itself when the vehicle is running?...or does the vehicle list @ the right rear all the time?...
The air suspension system has the ability to detect faults and display a "blink code" fault. This system does not have a memory and can only blink a fault code if the failure is current. It monitors air compressor run times and activity against height sensor changes. With this, I would think it could detect air system leakage, in general, by excessive or repeated pump activity and/or also leakage to the left or right pnuematic circuit by a lack of height changes on the respective side(s) during pump "run time".
If the vehicle lists all the time, I may want to look for a mechanical deficiency in the suspension system. Sometimes a problem in the opposing corner, in this case the left front, can cause this condition.
I have checked for service bulletins and prelimenary information...as of this date their is only a general service bulletin which directs the service technician to the service manual air leak diagnostic flow chart.
Pay close attention to what your system does....this information is alway helpful to the service department tech when diagnosing for a concern.
Good Luck @ the dealership...keep us posted.

:undecided Seems like this issue has been discussed in other posts. Anyway, just adjust the leveling sensor up or down on the side you want to change. It is done the same way as lowering the rear on both sides.

Thanks 04TBEXT, very useful information! I'll have to keep an eye on mine at different times. (i.e. in the morning before driving, at shut off, etc.)

Do you guys think that the additional 140lbs or so on the right side of the TBSS has anything to do with it? As the air bags slightly deflate, which side will deflate faster?

Tom, take a look at the backup up lights in relation to the curb. Assuming the curve is graded the same as the ground underneath the TBSS, its not bad at all.

Kinda like he K5 I had, 30+ gallon gas tank and spare tire were on the same side of the vehicle. Talk about gangsta lean!

Look between the wheel spokes and you will see the adjusting bolts on the LH side. One bolt has been removed to lower the truck. To bring the truck level you would just adjust the location of the bolts.

Yea, the only way to get the rear bumper like that is to get out the Dremel and start cutting the stock bumper.

It really wouldn't be hard for a body shop to detach that lower piece (it only snaps in), make a mold with the cut out and start mass producing these things for people. Anyone have the part number for the lower piece?

Duals are only available either from Borla (regular TB and I6 only) or custom setup. All the SS duals here so far are custom setups, although Stainless Works is working on a true dual bolt on kit.
Before you ask where to get the bumper cover with dual cutouts, you cant. Have to dremel out the other side in your existing bumper.

Dealer called me today to let me know that my Rear Suspenstion parts are in... They determined that this is the problem with the ride height lean. I will bring it in this week to get it fixed.
Are people actually getting the "brackets" for the og lights installed??? I asked my dealer a few times about this and they do not know ANYTHING about the fix.

Let us know what parts were needed to fix the rear suspension. There is a TSB for the wiggling fog lights. They need to look it up.
