I had my Right Mirror replaced by the dealer today. I saw that it was different than my left mirror so I said something. They said that the mirror design probably changed and that they had a few older part numbers but used the part number that replaced the older ones. The referenced by my VIN, they said. I check all the 05's on the lot and they also had this new type of mirror design. This sucks. :mad:

That really sucks bro'. :( Don't they have any old stock available. Well probably the only way for you is to replace the left side too, the one that matches the right. :undecided

Also, not only is the new mirror shorter, but it also has the writing on it that your left hand one doesnt. Yeah, I agree with you that it isnt the best looking. Sorry the dealership did that to you. :cry:

The old right one had the writing on it too...at least that is the same. I might just but two new mirrors with the turn signals. :undecided

You could get a good pair at ebay for a great price, unlike those high dealer priced parts, that is if you want to replace them yourself. :m2:

Too bad they didn't have an older one, what are you going to do? change the left one so you can have it match with the new one or...?

I think that I am in search of a NOS mirror. My father is good friends with a guy who owns a GMC Dealership in Feasterville PA. Thats where he bought his truck. Anyway, he is going to see if they can find me a NOS mirror for the 02 - 04 and not the 05 mirrors. I will have my dealer switch it.
Here are the part numbers I got from the dealer. All are for a Right Side, power, and heated Trailblazer mirror. (no turn signals)
Old #15136306 changed to New #15137974 -- This may be the new mirror #, I have to check)
Other Older #'s
Old #15206176 -- I FOUND THIS ONE ONLINE :) $68 bucks.
Older #15097468
Oldest #15063847

Whoa wait a minute... the 05 mirrors are shorter?? How so? That seems real smart, adding an extra blindspot :rolleyes:
That truly sucks. I guess I never noticed that little detail about the mirrors even with the 05 Denali I drove a month or so ago.

The triangle part the mounts against the window is smaller and cast differently. I found the older part # mirror at a Chevy Dealer in North NJ, but am waiting to see if my Dealership will get the part for me or I might have to buy it myself and have them installed it for free. Then I'll sell the new part number mirror that is already on my truck on ebay or something if I have to buy the NOS mirror myself. All the 2005 Trailblazer/Envoy have this new style mirror.
It seems to be a cosmetic change for the worst.:m2:
I just heard back from the Service Manager and they said thay are going to get that NOS mirror for me. I really didnt think they would. I guess it all worked out in the end with another phone call to the service manager.

Glad you got issue resolved.
Maybe the new design is in part due to some of the wind noise complaints GM has had on these trucks. Also could be in the name of cost reduction. :m2:
