Its Sunday and my SS has been getting its windows tinted all day. Its a 6hr procedure so when i get truck back i will post some pics.
Its rainy chitty weather here in Northern California anyhow, so it gives me time to clean my house being i have neglected it ever since picking up my SS, lol.
Ok hope everyone is having a gr8 day and i know most are watching Nascar :)

Ghoster i was recommended to this guy by my Cousin and he says hes best in area. I went to see him Saturday and i told him to make his best judgement, but make it look classy at same time. I'am not into having a pitch black look to my truck so i will definitely post pics. This guy does all this work on a pc as far as cutouts which i thought was cool. Anyhow, i will definitely take pics when i pick it up which will be in 1 hr or so. If its not to dark out i will take some and post tonight.

Good, cause I was going to say 6 hours is a long time to tint two windows.

Congrats! I just got mine done a week ago. They matched the back (20%) and I'm very happy with how it turned out. Here's a picture if anyone else is looking into getting it done. They did an awesome job and it was $80 for the fronts and it took them about half hour.

Ok im about to leave to get truck, but mine is costing $285, this includes some door jam work of some sort so when i open door i don't get a door ding, lol. Remember Calif is an expensive place to live. Ok talk later :)

He's probably making you leave it with him for 6 hours as a convenience to him, but I can't see the whole process taking that long. My place did my front windows, passenger windows, rear windows, midgate window, and my rear window in two hours. That's a total of 8 freakin windows. Course there were at least 2 guys on it the whole time.

Yea Ourzoo is right! I do tinting too and It took me right about two hours to do the whole TB, and that ding u hear when the door opens is not that hard to take out/eliminate so that wouldn't that long either!

Pictures i took make SS look as if it were limo tinted which is far from what it looks like in person, but here it goes.
Had them done with Suntek window films and went with a Carbon series type. I used 45% for all windows i had tinted. Heres pics and i also had him toss on some tint that goes on edge of all 4 doors in case of mishaps when opening door upon another car. Its clear and i didn't take a pic, but it does help again door niks when not careful opening doors. So heres my pictures.
Overall i paid $290 when all said and done with an addt 50 for the 4 doors when door jam tint.

looks nice, although wheels are not to my taste, personally, I like the SS rims better, any reason other than the looks for your change? like size or width?

Has anyone had a sunstrip put on their front windshield yet? I like how they look, but I'm afraid it'll make the SS look cheapy or rice-like.

I had a sunstrip put on my Envoy Denali. Some days I like it, some days.....
If I did it again, it would be a lighter tint and not go down quiet as far.

A question about the tinting film installation. Does the film extend to the edge of the top and sides of the window? Also does the film extend below the weather stripping on the bottom of the window when it is all the way up? How does the film hold up over time, scratchs, aging etc.?

If you get a quality shop to do it.It'll last a VERY long time. 6 or 7 years. Yes it can scratch but just go easy on it. Clean it with windex with a soft cloth.Don't use a "scrubby" on it. It goes to the top of window and below the weather stripping.
