I haven't been able to find anyone who makes an acceptable replacement for G.M. AUTO TRAK II ("blue colored transfer case fluid") ... I belive you must stick with G.M. fluid only..

Just bought my Auto Trak II at Carl Black Chevrolet here in Nashville For $8.76 per quart for a total of $19.14. Not too bad for what manufacturer recommends!

According to their website, Synchromax will work. http://www.royalpurple.com/transmission-chart.html But, if you really want the true skinny, call Royal Purple and ask them. They are the folks who can give you a definitive answer, though the website seems to nail it.
In my opinion also, since the GM fluid is so cheap ($8-9 per quart) and so readily available (any Chevrolet or Pontiac dealer's parts department will have it in stock), there is absolutely no reason to search for something else. Anything else that will work must meet GM's spec, so why not simply use the GM fluid?
thanks for the replies ,yea GM fluid is cheaper and they always seem to have good fluid and spark plugs ,so thanks a lot for the help guys

If I'm not mistaken, the GM AutoTrak II is already a synthetic product. Sneaky factory has been using full synthetic in selected products for some time...
