Isn't it weird how it always seems to rain the day after you wash your car?

I have been able to wash mine once since I have had it, and now it won't stop raining. Now theres a freaken TROPICAL STORM out there thats dumping bucket loads on Florida.
Someone needs to start a thread bashing the hurricanes and tropical storms. Something tells me that members from the the southeast region would fill it up!! ;)

It either rains or i get behind a semi hauling dirt, gravel, etc. without a cover over it because they are inconsiderate dumb asses around here who dont care if a boulder flies out of their poorly loaded semi truck trailer into someones vehicle

Yeah, I think we suffered enough for the whole country last season. A lightpole almost fell on my van last year during hurricane Charlie, I'd be PISSED is something happens to my new TB, hopefully after those 4 storms, theres not too much left that can fall over. (Wishful thinking!!)

Lightpole + Van + Charlie = why are you picking on me?? :o
Back when I first got my liscense, I had a 94 Astro van. About a month after I got the liscense, I was going down the road doing 35 MPH (speed limit) and a guy in a cadillac backed out of his driveway in front of me. Being that I didn't have time to stop, I punched the accelerator and swerved out of the way. When I swerved back into my lane, I must have overcorrected (or the top-heavy weight of the van pulled it farther than I intended) and hit the curb. Doing about 40.
Long story short, it popped a tire and sent me on a collision course with a street lamp. I hit it doing well over 30MPH. The pole fell about 2 feet away from smashing through the roof on a house, and I did about $12,000 in damage to the van. Now, keep in mind this was a 94 Astro with about 93K miles on it; blue book at the time (2001) was less than $4000. Yet the insurance cut me a check for $12,000 with which I bought my 98 Blazer LT.
Kinda sucks that I trashed the truck that way, but I wasn't complaning when I got about 3x the value from it

Yeah I know. I got lucky with that one, bigtime. If I had gotten so lucky with that blazer I might be driving a brand new 05 envoy instead of the 02 :D

You guys are going about it the wrong way. Wash it while it is raining, saves times and water :D

Ha, I'll take rain anyday. For me it seems like the birds know my cleaning schedule. My favorite are the landscapers and thoughtful people blowing the crap from their lawns or sidewalks into the street. Nothing tops off a good washing better than driving through a cloud of dirt

the worst is when you look at the weather and it calls for rain, so you decide not to wash the cars, but then it never does rain. damn you weather.com :p

It really sucks here in Orlando, we get those daily afternoon thunderstorms. It rains just enough to get that nasty road spray all over your truck, then it turns beautiful again. Then there are the days when you get heat stroke just trying to detail your ride. Its give and take...

My friend lives in Orlando, and when I have to travel to the Jax Naval base this time of year, I can set my watch by the thunderstorms  Seem to happen the same time everyday.

Hmm... that reminds me of a commercial an insurance company is running... Liberty something (about a shopping cart causing a telephone pole to crash on a car). Glad you made out 02EnvoySLE Guy and that no one got hurt.

I dont know about you guys but rain is the least of my worries. POLLEN is ridiculous here in Massachusetts. I just sprayed it down in the morning before I left for work (in company vehicle) and when I came home it was green again. Its terrible.

Your right, you could pretty much set your watch to it... But I hear that BP Gas Stations give you a free car wash if it rains within 24 hours of your last wash. Sounds to me like they would go broke, I have to look into this... Anyone else heard that before?

Yeah it gets pretty bad here too. I have a black car also. If it doesn't rain the next day i still have to as least wipe off the pollen.

Ah pollen, I'm glad we don't deal with that too much here, I used to live in PA also, so I know how bad it can get.
