Any one have an issue with the fan clutch failing? There is a sensor in the entire assembly that makes it turn on and off. Mine is intermittent problem. $267.00 for a new one. Of course you can't just buy the sensor, service guy said he would pay for the parts if I pay for the labor..

So far I have had no problems. What year is your truck?

Hey Tommy it is a 2002 with 43k on it. What happens is sometimes at start up it stays on for several miles.

By the way congrats on the Eagles...I hope you don't play the Steelers, we hate 'em here..

Seems to be a common problem. Have seen it discussed on other forums. The clutch is sold on Ebay new for around $100.00. Heard it was kind of a bish to put on.

Im guessing its out of warranty unless you got an extended warranty. Yeah, I am glad the Eagles finally made it. Sorry about your Steelers. I feared playing them.

Take care,

Cough, cough... umh sorry Tommy- Ohio/Cleveland.. couldn't be happier that the Steelers lost..

Yeah I looked into the job myself and said screw it so the bill ended up being right around 300 from the dealer anyway, well at least I didn't bust any knuckles just my wallet.

The fan clutch on my '03 went after only 23,000 miles...luckily it was under warranty so it didn't cost me anything to get it replaced
