So About a month and a half ago I took the dive and got a smartphone, best move I've ever made.
So how many other people here have BB? and how many want to swap pins so we can chat :D

Both my son and I are using BB. Love them. He has the touch screen, I have the Curve world phone (8830) with the ability to use any phone carrier signal on earth.
I don't normally give out my pin. Not real big on texting, even on a phone that works as good as the BB.
Make sure you check out crackberry.com. Great site!

Both phones have their good and bad points. After seeing my kiddo's storm in action, I'd have one in a heartbeat, but the iPhone is great also -- not quite like they show on TV, but good nonetheless.
Biggest drawback for me on the iPhone is ATT and their lousy coverage. Once you are out of a major city or away from the interstate, you are on your own. I'm sticking with my BB because of Verizon's coverage, and also because my work and all my family are on the V. Makes the minutes work SO much better for me.

A couple of my friends have the iphone, they like all the app stuff, but they seem to have quite a few dropped calls and sometimes bad signal, so that's the only thing they don't like about it.
The dropping of calls with the iPhone seems to be fairly common, it happens when crossing between 3G & 2G areas. If you set it to 2G, the drops are reduced, but you then run 2G edge for data. My BB Storm, on AT&T, never drops a call, but neither did my 8310. I'm pretty new to BB, but I'll tell you they make a great phone that works well as a phone.
Another phone to look at is the Droid, know somebody with one and they're pretty nice.....but have horrible battery life. He charges daily and my storm goes 3 days typically.

There are just about as many apps for the BB as the iPhone. Apple just spends a lot of money on television letting everyone know about theirs. A new app that loads on the BB desktop is "App World" an app that finds other apps and loads them onto the phone.
The one hitch on the Curve series BB is the amount of memory for storing apps. You have to be selective. Memory size is one area where the iPhone outplays BB. It is better on the Storm than the Curve, however, also better apps available, things like "level" etc., that wouldn't work on the Curve or Pearl.
Here are a couple sites:

I've had the BB Storm1 for about a year now, love it, won't go back. Have never used BBM though. Blackberry forums are good, crackberry forums a bit better, more info. I too use the same username on crackberry.

I had an 8320 and an 8900 on T-Mobile. Switched to VZW just for the Storm2 and I don't regret it one bit! Best phone I have ever owned!

Had a BB, I did not need my emails pushed to my phone. Had Verizon for 7 years, now have had the IPhone for about a year. Not a big difference in dropped calls for me, and I push 4000 minutes per month. With travel, I have not seen a big network issue, but I'm not going into the rural midwest either. For apps, BB has about 10k, IPhone over 100k, but yes there are a lot of "similar" ones. Neither BB or IPhone is for everyone, go with what is more comfortable to you. For me I'll never give up my IPhone, but in two or three generations from now, Android could be an interesting option and the wife and family are on Verizon.

I have been supporting AT&T phones for about two years ..... and in my experience there isn't a difference between the number of comlpaints received from either BB or IPhone users, through typically each phone has its own repetative issues. Too bad the company I work for is closing our center and shipping the jobs overseas :sadcry:
Personally I need a flip phone, or I always manage to break it, and being on Rogers network in Canada I was able to get the BB Pearl Flip.
