Hi guys, new 06 SS owner here and Im trying to find out IF there is any way to lengthen the rear seat belt receivers, the plastic ones in the lower seat that the buckle goes into.
I like to have my kid's carseat in the Middle of the rear seat where I can easily see him, get him stuff when he needs it and I think its a bit safer away from the doors. I use the the inboard LATCH anchors from each side to tie the seat down plus the one over the back. This works well for me.
HOWEVER, on this truck it causes the child seat LATCH belt to almost completely cover the seatbelt receivers in the bottom seat cushion which makes it very very difficult to belt in passengers in the rear on either side of the car seat.
does anyone know if a company makes an extender like they have on airline seats. OR
If lower cushion receivers are longer from say a suburban or some other GM truck that will still work with the trailblazer seatbelt buckle? That would be ideal, then I could just unbolt the stock receivers and bolt in the new longer ones and away I go.
The Pilot we traded the SS for had belt receivers that were about 1-2
inches longer above the bottom seat cushion so it wasnt a problem in that truck.
