View Full Version : Leather with LS SS??

Is it possible to get an LS SS with leather? On Chevy's site, it used to add option packages automatically to the LS when the SS option was selected, and I'm pretty sure it included leather in one of those, but now it doesn't. The price difference between the LS and LT versions of the SS is almost $3.5k, which doesn't seem worth it when all I'm really looking for is the leather interior out of that.

Also, does anyone know what's going on with the pricing on the website. The pricing (more so the automatic option combinations) are completely different than they were just a week ago. I believe it used to add one or two LT packages to the LS when I picked the SS option, is that even possible?

Oh, and hi to all the members. I'm new here and don't currently own a TB or Envoy, but I'm looking to buy an SS come early summer. Just trying to get an idea on pricing and options now.

Thanks,
Josh

I believe the LS SS comes with cloth, Leather should be an option, but maybe they dropped it? all SS's are only an option added to either an LS or LT, 2WD or AWD, it's not an SS LS, it's an "LS SS", or an "LT SS" get the picture?

Another welcome to the forum

You could always go LS and get an aftermarket leather kit like Katzkin. Their leather is actually better than OEM. But you won't have a DIC unless you go LT, if that matters.

....or turn signal mirrors, steering wheel controls, I think compass in rearview mirror, and I think the shifter is nicer for an LT.

Welcome!

Getting an LS SS loses a lot of the convenience options like leather, DIC, shifter handle, etc.

And, the SS is an option package added to a regular TB, you first select whether you want an LS TB or an LT TB and then add the SS package to it.

...except in Canada, where SS is only offered in LT or LT2 trim.
(I'm not complaining though, I would have bought it that way anyway).

TS mirror mod = $30, shifter switch = $50. Still way under the LT price. ;)

What shifter switch are you refering to?

I don't miss my D.I.C. much at all, but I wish I had the Temp/Comp mirror ( I had everything on my Rainier V-8 I traded in on my LS SS).

You can get one off eBay and install it with the compass and then run the temp sender to the front radiator. Would look stock too!

I am interested in doing the temp / compass mirror. I have seen a few on ebay and I wondered if it is a simple plug in and go or? How would I go about installing the sensor or do I already have it?

Also how about adding a homelink unit? Are all the guts for the homelink in the housing with the buttons?

any help appreciated.

Thank you
Mike
