Well i need to get my car registered for this year, and need to take off my exhaust as mods are not really allowed in kuwait... I don't have any was6a to pass my car with the mods on which is a shame, so im thinking about taking the duals of and in place sticking a turbo muffler on.. this should reduce the noise and also give me a little bit more back pressure which would help...

IS IT TRUE we need backpressure to run the inline6 we have properly??? I've heard many debates about this, but no real out come....soon as hedman come out with a header ill be purchasing one...this means my exhaust system will be a truely free flow one....so if i get rid of it, i might need something to supply some backpressure any ideas???

Plus if i get rid of it, i'd just keep the muffler underneath the mid region of the car... im open to suggestions...

get rid or keep??

lol, ok was6a meaning i don't have anyone in the registration dept. who i can talk to and get my car passed having my exhaust on :p

again the back pressure, im really not sure... i mean i remember when i had a turbo muffler, and it was great... there was no drone whatsoever, at WOT the sound was just amazing, but then i decided to go down the route of straight through design......anyone have any ideas as to if this is a good idea or not?? plz fill us in

On many engine, including the I6 from what others have posted, removing too much back-pressure can result in loss of low-end torque and some fuel economy. It may come down to that the 4 valve head needs the back-pressure to allow for sufficient EGR that the electronics don't take a fit.

I'm surprised that Kuwait is that strict on mods, provided you haven't removed any of the emmision controls (ie: cat, O2 sensors, etc), I would have thought they'd allow it.....even NJ & CA allow an aftermarket exhaust, provided the cat isn't removed.

\well they don't care about emissions at all, not that i know off anyway.. they do have a problem with mods i guess... i have NO reason why, i'll take my car this next week, if they pass it they pass it, if they don't, then i'll need to take it off...

BTW I have removed alll cats and i haven't gotten any error msgs yet *touching wood* (Westers will be here in a couple days :D )
