seeing they made 494hp and 465 torque at the wheels with a stock maggie set up on a ssr im set on getting one on my tbss.

I want magnacharger to see that they have interest in this product so if your thinking about getting a kit or want a kit please post in here. Ill forward this link to blownchevy which works at magnacharger to hopefully try to get a move on this.

I just want a supercharger! I prefer Procharger, but might not be able to wait that long.

I'd definitely be interested. I was looking at getting a Magnacharger for my Silverado and was really impressed with the whole package and the warranty.

I had planned on a magnacharger since even before I bought my Trailblazer, but if kennebell comes out with a kit first, I'll be buying one of those. However, if neither one comes out with a kit by late summer/early fall, I'll be doing heads and cam instead. To the people wanting to know about Prochargers; they are good superchargers for lighter vehicles with either a manual or high stalled automatic. Because they are centrifugal superchargers, they don't build full boost until very high RPM. A magnacharger is a roots supercharger, and a Kennebell is a twin screw supercharger; both of which deliver instant boost and make more torque at low RPM than any centrifugal supercharger, and low rpm torque is what a heavy SUV with a tight torque converter needs the most. I have a procharger D1sc on my camaro with a 3500 stall converter, and it works well for that, but it wouldn't be my choice for a TB SS.

Count me in. I spoke to a shop in town (toledo) and they sold me. They also convinced me to wait for it instead of one of the others.

I'll take an intercooled maggie as soon as it's available. And long tube headers for AWD if somebody would just build the damn things.

Interested, yes. Decided, no. I really like that new KB unit. Maggie would be #2 choice right now. But I gotta weigh price vs performance vs availability in the end.

Count me in for a kit (black or unpolished) when it becomes available.

FYI- Lingenfelter offers this kit NOW installed and tuned for $8900 complete turn-key package. But the do not sell the product for the do-it-yourself'er.

It will make more TQ under 3K RPM... After that the Procharger will just come passing by until redline. For a truck its nice to have alot of TQ under 3K RPM which makes the truck feels lighter, but the difference in TQ between the two SC under 3K is very minimal. For example if the Magna did 400rwtq at 2500K RPM the Procharger would be making 360rwtq or so. At 3K RPM the procharger will most likely take over and just run away.

If you dont plan to tow then i suggest going with a Turbo. The reason is midrange powerband which is what needed to move the truck. A good sized turbo can give u more down low and midrange TQ than any SC ever will, but you will most likely compromise the topend. A good compromise between a roots style blower and a Turbo is a Procharger. It gives you great low end, midrange and topend.

If you plan to tow then go with a KB 2.4-2.6 over a Magna. Good luck

Here is a dyno graph from an SSR Automatic that was bone stock right down to the exhaust and air filter. We used this SSR for the Automatic Tune and mine for the 6 Speed Tune. I need to get mine back on the dyno after the most recent tune was flashed in. Remember that the out the door conservative tune you get with the MagnaCharger kit will give you 100 RWHP, then it is up to you to tune and make more power. All dynos read different, but every SSR that has done a before and after dyno with the install sees right at 100 RWHP with the tune that comes with the kit. The tune for this SSR was done to see what was there with a stock vehicle on Magnusons Dyno.

Earlier today I called Magnuson and they said they hope to have a kit in the May timeframe. Someone's truck is going in to be the test mule. The intent is to bolt up the SSR kit as that truck is very similar to ours. Time will tell.

Hopefully everything goes well, I want one :)

id rather wait for the company to make the kit then go to a modified one from ligenfelter.

im hoping stainless works comes out with headers and a 3 inch crossover not 2.5 since we will be doing single exhausts.

my truck is going in i hope on friday for the exhaust. 3 inch all mandrel bent

Where are they located at? I would be willing to donate mine to help speed things along.

i bought all the pipes i will need straghts, mandrel 45s, mandrel 180 etc for 150 bucks from e bay,. includes everything i need then sanderson headers will be working their magic. My friends are buddys with the main exhaust guy and hes giving me a good deal to do the set up.

oh yah muffler was 80 bucks shipped from e bay a magnaflow 5x8x24 length.

so pretty much installed with everything less than 350 bucks.

Interesting....make sure you get pics!

Curious how they deal with that crimped bend over the axle. I would imagine that with it lowered you will need that space.

Would this work on the Gen IV engines?

it would work, but the computer program it comes with isnt compatible with the ls2 pcm. Also, it is built and tuned accordingly to the lower compressio nratio of the 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 engines in the trucks. the ls2 is a bit higher at damn near 11:1. You could buy the kit though and do the tuning yourself though....hmmmmmmmm.........

I did some side by side measurements of my 2005 LS2 6 Speed SSR and a members 06 LS2 TBSS. The MagnaCharger will fit without a problem, the tuning will be the only thing to overcome at this time and Magnuson is working on that. I also did the measurements to see if the SSR and TBSS have the same room for Headers and the 2WD TBSS actually has a little more room at the firewall and floor boards as compared to the SSR. A custom CAT setup and Exhaust would have to be made but the headers from the SSR will work on the 2WD TBSS.
