Hello all, This is my first post. This site is awesome, so much info.
I recently purchased a magna flow muffler with a 3 inch pipe. Sounds good once you punch the gas. But if you ease the gas on it sounds like a rice burner. I also read here that some people put a glasspack on before the exhaust tip. Does anyone have a sound bite with this installed. I will try to post a sound clip of my own as well.:)

Welcome aboard. Definitely post that sound clip, I am thinking of installing a magnaflow muffler too. I just want to hear how it sounds like.

Welcome!

I just got a 3" cat back w/a Magnaflow and glasspack installed a few weeks back. I love the sound when you get on the gas, loud but not obnoxious like ricers. I had the glasspack installed after I had the muffler put on b/c it was too loud and droned like a MOFO, but now all is good.

BTW, my exhaust guy said to put the glasspack before the muffler otherwise it wont cancel as much drone.

Thanks for all the input. I will put the sound clip on this weekend.
Scarab, so you have the glasspack towards the tip of the exhaust. B/C it would be a pain and more money to put it before the muffler.

My glasspack is after the muffler and it removed alot of drone.

I know that, but my exhaust guy said he wanted to put it before the muffler and would not put it right before the tip. He cut out the 3" piece he had welded in there 4 days earlier and then welded the glasspack in.

@JimmyH, No, my glasspack is before the muffler on the engine side.

Maybe a flow through before the tip would freshen up the sound. Let is know.

My glasspack was put right next to the muffler. I didn't want it in the back of the exhaust. So i could angle the exhaust tip.

Man I would really like to see some underside pics of the muffler/glasspack combo if possible. Anyone have a second to jump out to their trailvoy and snap a couple real quick like?

I am going to the shop on friday(morning). I am going to install the glass pack and then I will have the chance to shoot some pics. I will take some sound clips before and after.

I'll try to take some pics during lunch. I have to get the truck high enough to get good snap shot of the muffler and glasspack combo.
