Anyone know the trick behind that "New Posts" link in the nav bar? Sometimes it shows me new posts, and sometimes it doesn't? Is there a time limit or does it use cookies? I hate missing good threads...

Its based on cookies, it goes by the last time you logged in. The forum will automatically show that your offline after 15 mins of inactivity. Then, when you come back, it refreshes the new posts list.

So even if you don't read the new threads, if you come back later, cookies thinks you did read them? I am just trying to conquer missing posts. The other day I missed a ton of them, and it said there was no new posts. I need to stop comming here while at work unless I know I can read all of the new posts.
Thanks for the response Tommy. :D

That new posts button is all I ever use, honestly. I don't think I've gone into the forum index more than once or twice total :D

Hey Tommy,
mp3car.com uses vBulletin Version 3.0.7 also, and they have RSS feeds for live bookmarks of new posts... I like RSS feeds a lot for getting quick updates while at work; is there an easy way to implement them? I'm not familiar with vBulletin.

I think the RSS feeds are done with a separate program that adds on to vB, or at least they used to be (in my very limited experience with the vB backend). Might be integrated now, though.... it would be a cool feature though.

In firefox you click manage bookmarks, file, add new live bookmark, and paste the link.

I could never get that to work. Everytime i've ever tried that it says Live bookmark feed failed to load.

you can try this (http://rssexplorer.planet-hood.com/), I've never tried it personally.
I've been on the firefox bandwagon since 0.2, out of the box its OK but its really extensible in that you can get extensions off of the website to do lots of cool stuff. and the ability to add different search engines to the toolbar is my fav

Yep, I just added it to my personal google page. Pretty cool. I too have been on the firefox bandwagon for sometime now. But the latest release is kinda buggy.
I took a screen shot of the personalized google stuff, but now my ftp server is down and can't get to it at the house. Blah...
edit: oooop - JJ has one above!
