Atco...

I'm tired and may not get the chance to post this tomorrow so here it goes, no TCM, Software not fixed in time, so I ran with just the ECM programmed, only track prep was removing the spare & lowering the rear PSI to 22, jack, Amp, Bass Tube, Etc. still in the truck.. weather: 74f headwind 10-15mph, Bar29.17 Humidity 47%.. not ideal conditions:

60'..2.105
330'..5.867
1/8..8.912
mph..80.86
1000'.11.537
1/4..13.773 @100.92

That was tune #1

next up (many..many hours later, unfortunately spring is most definately here) it only cooled off to 68f, humidity rose to 70%, we changed the tune to a slightly more aggressive one & without even taking it through the gears once, we ran it down the track, it went:

60'..2.056
330'..5.728
1/8..8.723
mph..81.95
1000'..11.321
1/4..13.537 @101.84

REMEMBER THAT I DON'T HAVE THE TCM TUNED YET!!!!

so that was just with an ECM Tune, hopefully this TCM program (only on the flash tunes, not a problem if you have the TCM sent directly to Wester's, but this should be fixed any day now) glitch will be fixed ASAP as I would love to hit the track before the Temps don't get out of the 70's even at night..Place was packed, saved the Stock run for the last run, that never came, so I can't post the actual gains from stock this time, but anyway, I ran the first tune again and it improved to a 13.614 @101.31, as the temp dropped to 64f, this is the main reason I only "usually" run my rides in the fall and the end of winter, too many cars, and setting a new best is usually impossible because of the "un" HP-friendly air..Was thinking about hitting Englishtown tomorrow, but I don't think it's worth the time, the Dyno is set for Sunday, I can dial this tune in on it and then Wester's should have an absolute Monster Tune, because I can say for sure that it's almost there..Pulls very hard, slightest drop off in 2nd around 4800-6k Rpm, something we're working on, going to log some blasts hopefully tomorrow and then let Wester's figure out the area that needs adjustment.

Also, there were plenty of stock cars there running 3-4 tenths off their norm (06 Must GT 14.3's that runs high 13's & a Charger RT Daytona Pkge runnin 14.0 usually at a 13.70, TL A-Spec Supercharged runnin 13.9??) so if you use that as a comparison, we're talking, similiar conditions as my 2 previous track outings I could be running 13.20-13.40 with either of the tunes, and only half that as the TCM is still 100% Stock:eek: ...I will post updates on the Tune and Dyno as they come...overall very pleased, not a new best but it was almost 40f warmer and a headwind..

Great times! That's one fast brick :D

Isn't ATCO a track that people typically run better at though? I know a lot of people can pull off much better times, and then when they race somewhere else, they're .3 seconds slower.

i have only run my truck at Atco so far, so all my times are based off the same track..previously I have run, 13.49, # of .50's.. 2 nights and about 18 runs my avg is 13.53 over 101.5mph, but that's in cold weather, warm weather is an entirely different animal, as I found out tonight..

Tony,
I really wanted to get down there last night but couldn't. We're in the middle of renovating our kitchen. Next time you guys come, let me know. Anyway, your numbers look good, congrats. I'll probably be heading down your way with in a couple of months to get mine hooked up. Later.

Congrats on the tune and the times Tony. Looks like you found out what I already knew being down here in that steam-room called Florida: when the IAT's go up, the power goes down! Either way I would still be happy if I was seeing times like yours!

I am not good with this stuff but I was speaking with my tuner and he in turn was looking at the slips from later in the night where the Baro dropped to 28.75?? says that's equivalent to 2000'+ above sealevel? anyone good at that kind of thing, didn't know it was around that number, Atco usually has good air, but then again everyone I talked to at the track wasn't happy with their outcome, not like those nights when guys are like," kicked ASS tonight!!" if you know what I mean...God I can't wait for some cooler weather and a TCM:rotfl: .....

here's the links to some (horrible) Video from my SOny Cybershot T5 (reg digital Camera, not meant to be used like this)

couldn't even tell you what run was what but I will say that I destroyed some ricers...I mean destroyed!! and I also whooped up on a Rotary ricer that took me out of the hole with a 1.853 60' ran a high 13...ricers in the lanes behind me, all Civics, of course, when I asked them what they ran, I got the ol' "It runs 13's" well we'll just say if they're running 13's, I am running 10's..

That wind is a killer, but congrats on the good times...all things considered. Keep us posted as the times keep going down.

we were not very enthusiastic when we pulled into the lot..first it was a Gambler's night with about 200 cars for just that, then you had about 40 bikes, and we got there at 6PM, they started running around 4:30, so we got one run and then sat for almost 3 hrs.. there was probably close to 400-500 cars there, I was number 221, and I saw a 276, plus the 200 Gambler's...lots of people...

as for the wind...we'll just say that when the burnout smoke is blowing back in your face like someone had a jet engine turned towards you..you know it's not good, where I noticed a big drop off was from 1/8-1/4 times, this brick in the wind is affected big time up against a headwind, heck, it has a hard enough time cutting through regular air:rotfl: , doesn't need any help slowing on the big end! think about this, the SS (4.10's) setup in a GTO would probably run in the mid 12's, given its weight and aerodynamic advantages..

Atco is usually a great track to run at, once in a while, a long while you get beat..May hit Englishtown tonight (although, I am warning you now, it's already 72f outside, so who knows what it'll run), I haven't run the SS there yet, so this time we will hit the track stock then flash it and see what we get, I am so impatient, I should just wait for the Dyno but F*ck it...I'm off today again so, enjoy it while I can (and the wife is in good spirits, although all these packages from Old Navy and other clothing stores arriving daily makes me wonder if I am the one having the wool pulled over their eyes!:duh: :duh: )
