Atco is better than Englistown??? Think Again, this is the second time I have run better at Englishtown than Atco with a Vehicle, was hotter today than yesterday.. 78f (baro ?? wind non factor, was very humid though) when I got there, left the truck the same way as the day before, no cool down, and it went 13.677 @100.92 with a 2.096 60' and 8.824 1/8th @81.43 (6:29pm) what makes that run so sweet was I beat up on a 06' CTS-V, he ran 13.73 @103.96 with a 2.16 60' & 8.970 1/8th, good driver, car just didn't have it, any doubters that think heat don't play a HUGE factor just look at those numbers...I'll post the slip later..

here's the rest of the run down, and there was a Blue SS there, I told him about the site, so he should be on here soon, he's from NY and has a "Quick 8" 72' split bumper Camaro (says it ran 8.10's):

2nd run 7:16pm (72f)

60'...2.097
330'..5.766
1/8...8.776 @81.85
1000'..11.381
1/4..13.594 @101.78

3rd run 8:24pm (67f)

60'...2.052
330'..5.700
1/8..8.704 @82.14
1000'..11.306
1/4..13.522 @101.54

4th run (hot lapped) (67f..still) 8:33pm

60'..2.076
330'..5.750
1/8..5.750 @81.78
1000'11.383
1/4..13.615 @100.82

hot lapping in the heat...BAD Idea:rotfl: !!!!
Keep in mind the TCM is still Stock:duh: :duh: ..Lyndon..Please get those guys to move on this problem, I know this truck has plenty more, that Trans computer is killin me out of the hole, 60's are the same as stock, with NO wheelspin..for this truck to run this well in the heat with barely any cooldown time says alot, and the guy I went there with has an AWD that ran a 13.70 @100 with the Tune, I would venture to guess the tune is good 4 at least .3-.4 and a few MPH..

And in the future please...No more trash talking about ATCO being "Sooooo" much faster!! it's just not true, I will say this again, they usually have better track prep (Now Eng. Town is laying down the glue lovely!! ) and better air..(Baro)

Tony , Sorry I missed you guys tonight . In regards to which track is better between Atco and E-town , if you have a high horsepower car (500+rwhp) 10-sec 1/4 mile or better , than yes , Atco is a more consistent track due to more frequent track prep , they have rentals going on every day , both tracks are between 30-80ft above sea level , but the air/elevation has too many variables on even the same day at different times , let alone different days , one day you could have slightly warmer temps and a better barometer and run quicker than if it was a few degrees colder , but with a weaker barometer , dew point , and humidity also play a factor , as well as wind , whether it's a tail wind or head wind , way too many variables .

The only way to consistently keep track of your times for comparison is to purchase a TAG handheld weather station , it logs your times along with the density altitude , many bracket racers swear by them . For instance , if you had a TAG back in Feb when you ran the 13.49 , you could pull up that run and the exact density altitude from the time of your run , then you could enter your time and air conditions from tonight and it would tell you what it would've run with the same air you had the day it went the 13.49 .

Mike, thanks for the info, I have never gotten that into the "technical" aspect of racing, but I will be from now on, as I am older and want not to be playing around with mods that don't work...

No problem T , here's the detailed weather from Atco/Mt.Holly for the 25th of Feb http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KVAY/2006/2/25/DailyHistory.html?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA

here's the weather history from the E-town area from tonight ,

And here's a density altitude calculator http://wahiduddin.net/calc/calc_da.htm , obviously the weather history above is not exactly what the conditions were at the actual track , but there pretty close , the only way to be more accurate is to buy the TAG handheld .

that sounds about right...now to get rid of that Torque Management, at least some of it..

Wind will play havoc with these bricks. Keep that in mind! Much more so than your typical car. Remember wind drag increases with speed in an exponential (^2) fashion.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drag_(physics) drag at large velocity for more info.
