Hello fellow trailvoys,
I just wanted to find out if anyone would be interested in some good old fashioned street racing. Either to race or just to come down, watch and enjoy. The past three Saturdays we have had more than 200 car turn out. Over 120 of those racing. Plus might I add it is a safe enviorment, its an industrial road which at night 12am-5am has absolutely no traffic. No one has ever got busted here, we have got shut down before but the local athorities are very nice and simply roll in and kindly ask us to stop the activities for the night. I can tell you for the past three Sat. nights I have been out there from 12am to close to 4am its a great time and best of all its free. Last Saturday we had a Silver and a Black SRT-8 rolls through. Good times, only wish I had one of the faster SS's guys in the area around at the time. If anyone would like to come out tomorrow night PM me and I will give you more info.

I used to really enjoy that, now it's not practicle as no matter where you go around here there is traffic, actually feel bad for todays young hotrodders, we used to have hundreds of cars turn out on Dover Rd. was a long straight level road that I found out is still advertised on the web as one of the 10 best stree racing spots on the eastcoast. when I lived in NY we used to run on a service road, one way and antone coming from the back had to wait for the two cars runnin before they passed, in NJ, we used to run at an old airpark, and an industrial park, but I guess some jackasses started wrecking buildings and property drinking and acting like *******s and there goes that, you know the deal...be safe, oh yeah and "DON'T Street Race it's illegal" (remember I am a cop:rotfl: )

Know what you mean.

Ohio especially in my area has a fair share of decent tracks. Yet within the past ten years we have lost one and soon will be losing yet another. The first one we lost used to be called Drag City, $5 to get in and $5 to race, awsome track spent my younger years growing up around that place, then again it was only 3mi from my house to there. Insurance reasons put them under in 99. Then the next track which word has it, is in its final year of running is Quaker City Raceway in Salem Ohio, now this one I have considered a home track since Drag City closed its gates. Walmart just bought them out and is going to put a distribution center there. It might run slower then other tracks being the dip towards the center but still its with in 20 min of home. After this year if I am gonna want to run I will need to drive over and hour to get to Norwalk Raceway Park.

I'm not trying to sound aged here but we get alot of youngins out at this street racing scene, most of them with good taste in cars and just looking for advice and tips on how to run em'. I would rather have people in my community out street racing and staying out of trouble and off drugs and so forth, this isn't an attack on anyone its just activities like this are viewed in the public eye in alot of area to be bad yet there are alot worse things the same individuals could be doing.

Last year out there we had plenty of awsome cars run so even the kid with the pos can come out and just sit around, watch and talk with many people that have the same love of cars just like him. Just to name a few of the impressive cars we seen out there last year.
(2) 2005 Ford GTs - the supercar
Twin 56mm Turbo 427ci C5 vette
Stage 3 Berger SS Camaro
Roots blown C5 vette
10sec Syclone
Whipple 03 Cobra high 9sec car
408ci TA WS6 mid 10sec car
2005 SRT-10 built with a 250 shot
Feiro with a LS6 in it (the peelie moster) lol, still impressive
1987 GN built 24psi boost on 28x12.5s
plus many other interesting and impressive cars which most people would never get the chance to see being they don't want to pay to get into a track or just don't want to drive all that way.
