i bet that would fit, sure looks like it would, i bet it would just need some minor modifications to the brackets, and i really think you could pull it off. although i'd prob have to see it in person to really be sure, obviously.

Looks good on the Colorado. Maybe part of the problem is tuning the PCM for the TrailVoys :undecided JJ are you gonna be the first TV owner with a SC?

Thought I'd add this to give you more of an idea. It is very plausable, if you've got the money to spend on the supercharger then go for it... if it doesn't work out, u could probably sell it for a little less on the colorado forums.. This supercharger does fit the L4 and L5 Colorados, So im sure it would an L6. :m2:

looks like the throttle body is turned toward the front more than ours and the washer bottle would definitely have to go

That is just a Centrifigal blower, im sure it would be very very easy to mod it for our engine..

Yes, I think so too.

I looked at these about 2 months ago, and I was pretty sure you can/could mod it fairly easily to our L/I6 motors. The biggest issue was PCM tuning, but now that has changed very rapidly with EFILive and HPTuners.

I would love to have that blower on my TB, but 4K is out of my budget.

As for the throttle body stuff, not a big deal, make your own intake tube that fits the I6 and then sell it!!:D

Washer bottle, ask Travis with the turboed TB where he put it.

Well, here's the email back.

Yes. Even the brakets are the same.

Subject: Colorado Supercharger Question

Since the L5 in the Chevrolet Colorado is essentially the same engine as
the
L6 in the Trailblazer (minus the cylinder, of course), would the
supercharger be able to be applied to the L6 with slight modifications
to
the brackets, and the proper tuning software?

does anyone know if the I-5 motors have MAF sensor because that would be a little more modding to do...because up until 06' dont have MAF. I think the parts that would be different is the midpipe from the TB to the S/C because our's are little longer away. All the accessories are setup the same way as the I-6 so the brackets should fit the same. Unless the alternators are smaller(smaller pulley) in the I-5's. Why does GM have so many different variables in their engine setup? lol!

Maybe if I didn't have to start redoing floors and painting in my house. Besides, you have the 4.2 this thread was started with. We'll even let you install some neons under the hood to show it off! :duh: :D :raspberry

Sorry guys, but the Powerdyne is not a great supercharger, it's not very efficient. We have one on the blown V6 Camaro we have and it just doesn't push the air that we need (I've even put a smaller pulley on it and see about a 100 hp difference). I'll see if I can get the brackets alone, and mount the blower on our TB and see how it fits. Charge piping and that stuff is easy to do, so if that's everyone concern, fuhgetaboutit. Even if I don't get the brackets, I'll start looking into making some for a real head unit (like a Vortech), and develop a kit for the TB's (within the next 6 months or so).

I would be willing to fabricate a supercharger kit.. I have access to CNC/Water-jet machines, and tons of experience.. I would probably use a Procharger P1SC, over the Powerdyne unit... From my experience with Mustang's... the Powerdyne is a POS... But, it wouldn't be very hard to fab a bracket.. Once we get our shop moved out to AZ, I might put up a request for a test vehicle.. We'll have a turbo kit, AND a supercharger kit available for you guys.. ;)

I found pictures of a Whipple Supercharger on a TB about a year ago, but could never find a listing for it. It is a twin screw supercharger. This is the address where I found the picture. It isn't there anymore, but you see the application they have. http://www.coloradocobras.com/whipple/whipple-supercharger-kits.html

Yea, Whipple never produced it due to "lack of interest", but that was before anybody could tune our trucks (even Westers!! talking about 2-3yrs ago) It is a slightly different story now with all the tuning software on the horizon.

this here is a link for all GM engines including the Honda/GM motors, this shows a good comparison with the I-5 to the I-6, very similar.... http://www.gminsidenews.com/index.php?page=Engine_Guide
