Have some performance questions

Hey guys,

I'm new to the GM truck world. I currently own two vehicles a 2000 Mustang GT with a Kenne Bell 2.2 built by ModularPowerhouse making 605rwhp/595rwtq.

I just purchased an 03 Enovy 2wd with the 4.2 LL8.

I've already installed K&N FIPK kit and a Jet TB spacer...

I made a mistake by ordering the Jet stage 1 chip before finding this site.

I'm going to return the chip and figure out a way to get the Wait4Me pcm b/c i want to hold onto the current one i have.

I have a few questions.

How do i order the new pcm, can i use a VISA? what kind of power gains can i expect?


Currently the rear gears in the envoy are ok being 3.42s, but i want to upgrade to 4.10 gears.

Does the stock 2wd rear end have a locking differential or does the whole 4.10 rear axle assembly come with a locking diff or limited slip type carrier?

I would just like to change out the rear gears instead of buying a completely new rear end to keep cost down.


I've been searching and i'll keep searching, but i want to buy some stuff next week so let me know guys i appreciate it.

I can't answer nost of your questions, but you can find out most of your answers by searching. I didn't think the wait4me tune was out for the I6. I have the Westers tune, and its great. As for gearing, check your glove box to see if you have the G80 code. Then search for the G80. Lots of different rear end gearings were available.

Yukon Gear (http://www.yukongear.com/) makes ring and pinion gear sets for the Trailblazer/Envoy.

Eaton makes a locker. Only locks up under 20 mph.

A LSD is only available for the SS... which uses a different axle.

Don't think Wait4me tune available yet. Still in development. Wester's is available. Check the ads here of our vendors.

4:10 gears an option in 2003. Could maybe find in a salvage yard, and probably would have G80 with them.
