: AC blower motor bad or resistor pack bad??

How can you tell if your AC blower motor is bad or if it is just a resistor pack? The issue I am having is that the front blower is not blowing out any air whatsoever. So in searching in this forum (great forum btw) I found plenty about how to change out the resistor pack but not how to tell if that is the culprit.

Can anyone help me make the determination?

I guess this will help. I have a 2003 Trailblazer EXT LT with the inline 6.

Thanks in advance.

You need a meter to check the blower motor wires to see if the resistor pack is sending any voltage its way. If you don't have one, or the training to use it, or a friend who does that you can buy beer for, then you might just pull the blower and connect it straight to 12V and see if it spins up.

Or it could be a fuse.

Other than that, you're going to be shotgunning. But statistically, it's 98% the resistor pack or the wiring harness going to it, so you shouldn't go too far wrong by just guessing that.
