Well I need something a bit louder... I already cut out the res and added the SS MagnaFlow Muffler 5" x 8" 24" Body 3" but i want something louder!!!
I am selling the Muffler its only about a month old and will come in original box. If you want it you can find it here: http://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.php?t=7748 (http://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.php?t=7748) taking all offers.
Now I need something to replace it.. I was thinking a...
4" x 9" Oval / 3" Offset Inlet / 3" Center Outlet / 14" Body Length / 20" Overall Length
Will this have a substantial sound increase?
Thanks,
Matt

I want something loud without having to hit the gas is this possible? would the smaller magnaflow be much louder then my current? I don't want to lose performance with the flowmaster!

Go with a straight pipe. One member on here has that :D That will be loud without hitting the gas!

They are all the same truck. The first two are inside on the road. The third is just revving it outside the truck.

Consider aftermarket cams? They could give you a nice lopey sound as well as added performance.

ok quick question???
you said you have the 5x8 is it 24 inches from end to end or is it the 24 inch case which is 28 inches from end to end.
if it is the ladder of the two the magnaflow 5x8 with a 14 inch case which is 20 inches overall will be a nice step up in sound
here is the muffler i was talkin about
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=458
ifyou step down to a 4x9 case go wtih the middle one because that one will be much louder. the 4x9 will be louder in the cab also. id stick with the 5x8 case

I ordered up a Flowmaster 50 delta flow SUV muffler should have it in by next weekend..I'll let everyone know how I made out.
Right now I have the stock system with the resonator cut off.The Hummm at 1900 or 2000 RPM drives me crazy and when you floor it you get a big swoooosh sound that sounds like $hit. All and all it sounds good around town and when you take off at the red light but not like a muscle car/truck should sound like when at high RMP and pulling up the power band.
I know the flowmaster don't flow as well as a magnaflow but I'm hoping that the little more back pressure will help with the Hummmm and swoooosh i'm getting now.I think we can agree that flowmaster has a great sound to them.I'm doing this as a sound mod not a performance mod.If the flowmaster don't fix the issues for me then the factor system goes back on and that would be the end of the exhaust mod till someones comes out with one that sounds great..corsa,borla ect....The magnaflow system just don't cut it for me right now.

Heres mine:

I should start a poll :)!
I know going straight threw I would lose some performance but how much?? It can't damage the valves can it?
Otherwise I would go with this: http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=425
Help me out guys :)
Edit the needed units the create the back pressure are still there.. So a straight threw would work perfect :)
Now I just need to sell my 5x8: http://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.php?p=99406

MATT if you want it loud in the cab then get the 4x9 but you have the biggest 5x8 case thats why its so quiet.
honestly if i was you id take out the 30 inch overall length one and id go down to the one that is overall 18 inches in length but keep the 5x8 case. The 4x9 with the 18 inch overall length will be way to loud for you.
on my tbss (when i can get it to a shop) i got all mandrel bent 3 inch pipe off e bay and went with the 5x8 case with the 24 inch overall length. If this is to quiet i will step down to a 5x8 case but 18 inch overall length which is the 14 inch case length.
Magnaflow told me that the 4x9 case that is 24 inches overall will have sound in the cabin. before i step down to the 4x9 case they said get a smaller 5x8 case. They both flow the same.
So thats what im doing. As soon as i can get the thing installed and see how it sounds. If its to quiet ill step down to a 5x8 case but its 18 inches overall length which will be about 6 inches shorter and i know it will be louder

Matt, did your magnaflow exhaust sound any louder in the cab than the stock exhaust at idle and while driving? Also how did it sound compared to stock from standing behind the truck. This is with the resisnator off.

It was louder in the cab but not by much on the highway it gets annoying... But im sure anything would. Its much better then the stock..
I can't decide weither to go straight threw or with the 4x9 case!
Help me oout guys.. Again I only do city driving and I don't mind sound in the cab!

I run a 6" round Magnaflow.
Loud when you stomp it.
The cabin drone is acceptable.
If i had to do it again, i would go with
the 4" round.

ive personally heard the 5x8 with the 14 inch case i was referring to with the resonator removed and it did sound meaty and loud outside but wasnt to drastic inside.

Hey guy's,
On the 3 "staight through" sound clip's that are posted in this thread, do any of you know what diameter pipe was used?. And what size tip?
I think someone mentioned this already, but the interior clips sound like the cam's been done. I forgot how much I liked that sound!
Thanks

He's got a flowmaster. I guess they are not reversable.
