Sup,
Could someone tell me what is covered under the warranty? I still have 6 months left and if its any good, i will see if they extend it. So far all the problems i got and have, the dealership wont fix it. doesnt the body itself have 5 years warrenty? I mean if it starts rusting etc. My left back door is giving me a problem (the one behind the driver seat). Some times it doesnt open from outside, u would have to really pull it hard to get it to open, before i used to think someone might have put something on it.
Anyways, do u guys think its worth it to extent the warrenty? i have 23000kms on it, and to extent the warranty they will charge 3gs extra! I really dont wanna get it unless i have to. Cuz i know gm cars have problems with their transmissions.

thx

I would definitely consider getting an extended warranty. Also, only get a warranty from GM, as the aftermarket warranty companies look for any way to deny a claim.

This company sells the GM warranty on the internet for a discounded price. I do not know if they sell warranties that are good outside of the USA.

Get a GM warranty before your factory warranty expires if you plan on keeping the vehicle. I don't know if Canadian warranties are different (I assume your from Canada because you use KM). In the states, the vehicle is protected bumper to bumper for 3 years 36000 miles that covers everything except non normal wear items (tires, brakes, fluids, maintenance, etc). They usually cover wear items for the first year, except for maintenance items.

I never seen anyone have problem with the corossion warranty and it think it is at least 7 years.

The I6 engine was warranted for 7 years/70,000 miles also.

The Emissions warranty covers some emission parts for 8 years, 80,000 I think.

This is all based on US information for an 03 vehicle.

Your vehicle should have came with a warranty manual or the dealer should be able to provide you with one if it is not in the resources area.

If you plan to keep the vehicle, definitely go with the GMPP warranty as stated above. Note that not all places charge the same price for the same service, so shop around. $3k is not a good price.

You will pay more depending on what your current mileage is, and what you want to extend it to.

For example, I've got a 6 year 50,000 mile version on my Corvette (since I only drive it about 7k per year) I paid $1000 for.

If I wanted a 6 year 100,000 mile version, I would have been paying around $2000.

Don't you have a "Bumper to Bumper" warranty?

If so, why isn't the dealer fixing all of your problems for free, as you paid them to do when you purchased the vehicle with included B2B warranty?

So called Bumper to Bumper warranty by Gm isnt that great. Not trying to be mean but i hate gm's dealership! I like their trucks and hope to buy more in the future but Its only the dealership that i dislike. I been going around town this whole day and finally i found a dealer which will moniter this problem. They are gonning to change the engine oil on monday and from then on, am going to visit them once a week to check up on the oil. if they see its not normal they will run a test on it and hopefully fix it. (WHy dont they just run the god damn test!) Any car is nice long as it doesnt end up in a garage

I have the remainder of my 36k waranty (from 24k) and then I have a "Platinum" waranty from my bank, I can't wait to see if I am gonna have a hard time with that. It says it is a hardcore bumper to bumper waranty.

I've always been very skeptical of any 'third party' warranty. Probably because it's a pain getting things covered with the factory warranty sometimes. Best of luck with that, although, I hope you never need to find out how good it is.
