Aren't you changing your pipe to 3"?

Thought the stock pipe is 3 after it bends over.. I removed resonator and currently have a 3.5 in tip but I can't figure out the inlet!

now after it kinks it looks like it goes to a 2.5 the guy at my shop then attached a 3inch pipe from that to the tip am i right?

From what I understand, the inlet for the factory tip is 3". I think I remember other people on here replacing the resonator and re-using the factory tip using 3" SS pipe. Anybody confirm this?
