Anyone race on the street in rain with AWD? I have a 4.2L AWD and I think its funny when people with 2WD try to race me in the rain even if they have stick or traction control they usually never win. My truck sticks right away in 4WD Hi and sometimes AWD.
Ive beaten in the rain:

1) 06' Cobalt SS S/C 5 speed
2) 05' SSR manual ?speed
3) 04' Silverado SS auto
4) 05' tiburon gtv6 6 speed
5) 03' eclipse gt v6 5 speed
6) 03' murano awd CVT(transmission)

im waiting for the chance against any EVO/WRX in the rain, that would be badass!

i've taken an 06 BMW 3 series manual RWD in the rain with 4hi...poor bastard...pitty that it was my brother...LOL

funny thing is, there was another TB in the OTHER lane, i heard her spinning tires almost like she was wanting in on the action but thought she could do something without the 4...LOL

HA! I was just thinking the same thing today! While I was next to a black trans am. Smoked him BTW, popped it into A4HI and smoked him!

It was great!

I ran my SS in the rain a few times. Works very well. I can run all them ones in your list on dry pavement though:raspberry Maybe not the SSR.

Thats a respectable wet pavement beating you've been giving!

I'd think twice about the EVO or the WRX though :undecided

I would not even think of racing an evo or wrx these cars are rally cars they love the wet roads and they can launch hard in the rain alot of my buddys have tuner cars and there is no way the 4.2(i had one) will even beat an ss in the rain!!!!!

3) 04' Silverado SS auto

He must not have known he was really racing. That or something was wrong with it. I owned an '03 SSS before my TBSS and I have a hard time believing he got beat by a 4.2 TB.

It's all in the driver too, so that could have been the variable we're missing.

It's idiotic to race in the rain...

Also, it's a 4.2L 6 cyl. SUV. Idiotic + 1

Even on dry payment, there is no way our trucks are running below 15.5.

its just for s&g, dont take this forum to serious idiot....:raspberry
u must have the slower 02' 270hp TB im sorry and another thing the ss lost, deal with it....my friends all have imports and they say my truck is a lot quicker than most cars since i moddified it.

ok then, how come i beat a newer (03'-05') red quad cab with the little hemi badge on the front corner fender on dry pavement, heads up i trailed by one car until about 40mph then flew up 2 cars until 89mph then i stopped, hemi lost lol...and this was on my 22's oh yea! im not expecting any quicker than 15sec with these trucks N/A.

Your profile says your 21, yet you act like you're a 16 year old who just received his license. Anybody with a normal, functioning brain would know it's absolutely moronic to race ANYTHING in the rain. One day, you're going to hit somebody else, and say "OMFG I CAN'T BELIEVE I LOST TRACTION WITH MY 22'S AND SWAY BAR!!!!" Seriously, Mario... You drive a heavy, slow SUV... Just come to terms with it. If you want a real "quick" car, than buy a GTO, 350Z, STI, etc...

Yes, I have an 02 Trailblazer with a 270hp straight 6. I also don't do pointless mods to it like a focking THROTTLE BODY SPACER and say I gained 10 hp from that. I also don't claim that my truck "feels like it's about 15.4 in the quarter... But I am going to get it down to 15 flat." Do a little research on your previous posts if you can't remember saying that (cough september 05 cough).

Now come back at me with something else, because I don't care about you insulting how slow my truck is. I know it's slow, that's not why I bought it... because it's a truck... so it's slow.. it's not a car... it is slow.

And no, there is absolutely no way you could beat a Silverado SS. Yes, I know they aren't the quickest trucks in the world, but it's an AWD 6.0L and it will destroy your Envoy.

This very reason is why all racing stories should be banned from every single car forum. All it is is a bunch of people trying to get off on lying about what kinds of crazy cars they beat.

if u can read i was stating that u were acting like a lil kid, so go back to school and learn about something different that cars/trucks cuz ur knowledge is minimal to experience. Is this your first car mommy and daddy bought you cuz im sure you never bought and driven a fast car. Check up on my ****, again STALKER!!!

silverado 2WD was in the rain, duh and i did win....hemi with the 20's had nothing on it stock everything so, stop sending these bogus replies they are pathetic. I could stay here all day negative posting too to everything like you but hey i gotta smoke some hemi's lata...

A stock Dodge Ram QC AWD 4X4 with 20's runs a 15.9 stock. So any other Ram that is 2wd or 17' wheels, or shortbox is quicker. I have no clue what a 6 cyl Trailblazer does. But from owning a Ram I know what it does. I know the Silverado SS is quite a bit quicker. I'm assuming a 15.1 or so.

No, I have never had a car or truck handed to me. This is the third vehicle that I have purchased on my own.

My "knowledge is minimal to experience?" Are you implying that you've got a ton of experience under your belt at the ripe old age of 21? By the way, I'm the same age as you...kid.

I will stick by my opinion and say there is no way in hell you beat a Silverado "SS." SS's are AWD friend, as you stated in your original post. But now it's magically a Silverado 2WD.. wierd!!! If that was a SS you raced, I wish somebody would have told him!

Judging by your imature response, and lack of knowledge on the English language, I'll say it's you that needs to "go back to school." Judging by your immature ACTIONS (Racing people on wet roads), I'll say it's you that needs to have his license revoked. Judging by your immature intentions of "going to go smoke some HEMI's", I'll say you're the type of guy who pulls up to a stop light and think that the person next to you wants to race every single time. So what do you do? You gun it to get out in front of them, and when mom or pop doesn't come screaming past you in their Buick, or Caravan, or whatever it may be... You think to yourself "God, this truck is a beast! I can't believe how much torque and raw power that this inline 6 makes." So you quickly drive home and rush to your computer just to post this breaking information on your SUV forum... Because that somehow makes you feel like you have a bigger penis?

This isn't Fast and the Furious man. Everyone you meet isn't going to want to race... especially since you're driving a heavy SUV. Also, with the current gas prices, people are taking off slower and slower at the lights. But that doesn't affect you, does it? You have that godly throttle body spacer (most worthless mod ever). Instant 20 horsepower and 6 MPG FTW!!!!!!

Let me know how recess was today.

You are right. Both of these trucks will beat a 6 cyl. Trailblazer. But since racing stories are dumb, and people love to bend the truth, you aren't going to hear that.

Just my :m2: . I have an 04 I6, with Westers tune, and CAI. I ran a 16.1 in the 1/4. This was the first time running down a track, and I had an absolutely aweful launch. with proper prep, and some launch practice, this truck will DEFINATELY do mid to upper 15's in the 1/4. So it is possible to beat those trucks......even on dry pavement. My slip is posted in the time slip forum, and I have the video if ya wanna see that too!

On dry pavement, the driver of the SS would have to screw up or not be paying attention.

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/pickup/112_0507_2005_chevrolet_silverado_ss/specifications.html

2005 Chevrolet Silverado SS
0-60 mph 6.7 sec
1/4 mile 15.1 sec @ 90.5 mph

Mid to high 15's don't equal 15.1.
