Pathfinder won't give up! Did after 3 races.

Yesterday i was on the Sunrise Hwy(NY) going to Riverhead.For those that don't know after u go way east it becomes a 2 lanes east and west bound, and there is like farms and plains on the sides so theres no place for police to hide.
So i was driving and theres this guy in font of me thats going 60 on the right lane, i put my blinker to pass him on the left and the pathfinder that was on the left speeds up so that i can't pass the car. I got pissed off :mad: . So he continues his "speeding" at 75 mph. I try passing him from the right and he speeds up again. So i said to my self its not even worth racing this guy. He has a V6. have I6 w/ only a CAI and JET performance chip. So i reduce the speed to 65. And the a$$hole slows down to. And with my smart attitude i desided to speed up finger him and pass him. Next thing i know he speed up again and taunts me (he had his windows open). I just pressed the gas and it started. I went up to 92 or 93 and slowed down cuz he was way behind me he pulls up again this time closes his windows and sunroof and it started again.!
:no: And again i bet him. I said to my self WOW this truck those have some power i never tried. It was the frist time i passed it over 85 mph. He eventually backs away. I tought i lost him. 2 or 3 min. later guess who come back! I race him AGAIN and this time i reached 96 mph. And it stops for a sec. and it start accelerating again (wierd is it common?)
I passed him again and this time i didn't back down i just kept speeding until i couldn't see him.
I wonder if i can race this guy again when i put my big block and the 6 speed tranny over the winter:undecided

:iagree: It does sound like the speed limiter began to kick in. Either the rev limiter kicked in just before the 3rd to 4th gearshift or as you approach the top speed of something like 110 +/-, depending upon your gear ratio, the PCM will nuke the throttle and allow only a modest acceleration up to the allowable top speed. From what I recall, I don't think the PCM allows 4th at WOT.

Instead of doing the big block and six-speed tranny, just go buy a TBSS and you won't have to be bothered with those who think they can run with the BIG DOGS. :D They'll only try you once!!!

And about me getting a SS, well its not happening. I would LOVE to get one but don't have the $ now. The big block and the tranny, including the conversion 4m auto to stick will run me from 6000 to 8000. A friend of mine (gear head) and me r going to do it so thats why its cheaper. And even if i had the $ i won't sell my TB. Its my first car and i plan on keeping it, and dumping all my spare $ into it. While i drive my 87 stang.

The only way to remove the limiter is to get a tune.

With an SS you can let him get ahead. Pull up slowly till Ur even and then blow his doors off like he was parked!:eek:

U dont just beat em, U totaly demorilize em so they go home and cry. :D

I was thinking the same thing, in my Envoy I have to open it up to pass people, in my SS when I hit it, the next thing I know I am doing 120 in about the same time my Envoy is doing 70:eek: ...Dangerous truck....very Dangerous..
