Ok well here's an idea I have, since installing my headers, I've felt an amzing power increase once the needle hits 4,500rpm right through to 6,000rpm... now I know even before the headers there was a kick around this rpm range, what I'm thinking is when you get the Westers that you get this feeling throughout the entire rpm range, as Westers put it, GM has cast a spell of Torque Management on our machines..
What Westers (Brian) has said looking over the previous posts on this forum, is that GM keeps the throttle body closed until we're at a "safe" enough speed to open it completely, hence the jump in the torque powrband... Sooo with a Westers tune, will we get this jump completely as soon as we put our foot to the the floor???

Partially correct, the TQ management really screws us up but the big change also comes from the VVT kicking it at about 4K. It nets about a 20rwhp gain instantly (I think blandmiller reported this?).
The Westers remove a lot of the TQ management so it will definately feel faster, especially with them new headers!:D

:iagree: It does improve take-off. However, the power is still between 3500 and 6000. When the valve timing changes you feel the power increase. At the track, it felt like it needed to be run up to 2500-3000 RPM's for the best launch.

It's called PE valve timing enable Rpm. The exhaust valve timing is changes to a maximum of 25 degrees when in power enrichment mode and above ~4500 Rpm. Most are factory set at ~12-13 degrees from 4500-6000.
Hopefully soon someone will tune this feature to it's optimum timing and Rpm range.

Can it be tuned?
