Anyone know what is the largest tire that will fit my 05 tbext stock rims and clear the upper control arm? I just installed the suspension maxx 1" front spacers and it makes my tb really look good :)

ahah i was gonna ask the same thing except i have a 03 envoy. I had my envoy parked beside a Qx56. the envoy had a better body, the only thing which made it look bad was the tires. The tires are too small for its size! I do have the XL model maybe thats why i feel the way i feel. I dont have any money for rims so i was thinking if we could jsut put bigger tires .

I switched to the MB Motoring 16x8, so I am not a lot of help. I am going to try and clear a 265/70. I know a 255 will clear on the factory rim. Most people buy a 1" - 1.25" spacer to clear larger tires. I will just end up doing some grinding if mine do not clear the UCA. Here is a thought, if you can't find anyone with larger tires on the stock rim and no spacer, then go to a tire shop and see if they will mount a used 265/70 or 265/75 on just one wheel to mount it on the front for fitment reasons. I personally would not go any larger/wider than the 265/75. Works out to be about a 31x10.50, maybe a tad bit smaller.

If you put on a taller tire than OEM, your performance from a stop will suffer. :m2:

If you see that much of a power loss by going 2 steps up in tire size, there are other problems. Re-gearing is always an option if you are not happy with the outcome. I am already looking into 4.10's after my 31's. I hate my 3.42's. Heck with gas mileage :D

If you're 4X4 you have to do both front and read diffs.

Yes. But incase some cannot afford to do both at the same time, the rear is fine to run as long as you do not use 4wd. I have done my own in a few trucks and one Jeep. An average job costs with gears around $800-$1200 here. Pretty darn high. Should be pretty easy in the rear, the front I have not looked at yet to see what needs to be done.
