I have seen a few people mention that Lingenfelter is preparing a TBSS but I can't find any details on it. Some have mentioned a Super Charger set-up but I was thinking they might Twin Turbo the BEAST!
Anyone have any details?

Yes John is dead but his company isn't. Couldn't find any info on a TBSS by them but I'm drooling over their Impala engines.

The Impala kits are nice, but there's just something about a 700hp, 740lb-ft, twin-turbo Escalade that puts a smile on my face. :D

I emailed them last week asking them if they were working on anything for the ss and they wrote back saying that that thing are in the works(cams and heads) and more info will be released as they are finished which they said by summer if everything goes right!!! and if you had money to play with they will do anything you want!!!

I heard from a mechanic friend thats works for the dealership I bought my SS from that they had I think two, in there for one thing or another. Dont know any details but this guy is a drag racer, awsome mechanic, and I have no reason to not believe him. Lingenfelter is just down the road from us.

I have the details, and a letter from Lingenfelter. The package is $8900 and they claim 550hp. Includes 2 year warranty, supercharger, installation and dyno tuning. I can .PDF the documents and post later for sharing. Seems like a reasonable deal. Basically you're paying six grand for parts and $2900 for labor/warranty. I'm considering it.

What do we have for internals? Yes I did a search. All I can come up with is 10.9:1 compression? and I cant see runnnig much more than 6-7 psi with that unless we are all forged. 7 psi would put us right around 550 flywheel.

The LPE package is flywheel rated not rhwp and they don't touch internals, strictly bolt on and tuning. I speculate rwhp numbers should be in the 460 range

how much will cam and heads give u with a good setup?
ltz03
05-08-2006, 06:26 PM
heads and cam could give you anyware from 50 to 100 or so depends how much you like your idle. the tread on hightech gm said they got about 90 hp from just a cam(correct me if i am wrong) get a set of heads to go with that??????

I e-mailed sales just out of curiosity the other day and they actually replied rather quickly:
"Thank you for your interest in Lingenfelter and our products. We are
finishing up the installation of the first Trailblazer SS now and should
have more information soon."
So it's definitely a "go"....we can all sleep easy now. Can't wait to see the complete package specs though :D.

Past Lingenfelter installations has me feeling both anxious to see the performance numbers, but fearful of the hit it will inevitably give to the pocketbook!

so who cares...I'm not going to live forever so I might as well have as much fun now as I can afford...Lingenfelter here we come:crazy:  :) :)
The Lingenfelter premium is a helluva lot of scratch to pay for a warranty.

You guys crack me up. Half of you whine about how much Lingenfelter costs, but what you guys seem to fail to realize is that they are the best in the WORLD at this stuff. Everything is blalanced blueprinted numbered and stood behind with a real warranty. Go to a speed shop and have them bore your motor out and see what kind of warranty they offer you. NONE 95% of the time. I've seen 1000HP vette and a couple of twin turbo'd 700+HP vettes at mid-ohio, and let me tell you, there is nothing to compare them to. Totally badazz. If you can't afford it, that's cool, noone is gonna dis you for that, but if you can, it's the way to go. I wouldn't say that they way overprice stuff either.

I used to own a Lingenfelter Impala SS, and I can tell you from experience: THEY ARE GREAT!!!! I had the 383 package on my Impala and it took its HP(crank) from 260 to right shy of 500... These packages are not cheap, but they are definitely worth it... I never had a problem with any of the parts they installed, although I can't say the same about the rest of the car... I am looking forward to what they will do for the TB SS...

With an original sticker of a little over 32.5, and over 10K in aftermarket accessories.... I don't need an SS, because I have my hot rod, a 1980 Chevy pickup. I will be more than happy to meet YOU halfway at a predetermined track and race you for titles? All motor, no juice, no boost. It's only a 350 Chevy motor. :undecided ;)
How about the Henessey(?) Vipers Totally impressive as well, but I was under the impression that they only do Dodges?? And They were talking about The SS's. But definitely they are awesome machines too. They had 2 vipers there too, wicked fast.

Nope, they do work on a wide range of vehicles, from Bentley to Porsches: http://www.hennesseyperformance.com/hennesseyperformance/index.php
And sorry, I thought you were saying nothing compares to the vehicles Lingenfelter puts its packages on... The only street "race" I ever lost in my Lingenfelter Impala was to a Hennessey Magnum SRT8....
