Hey all, I've been thinking about removing the door moldings off of my '04 TB. I have s.s. rocker panels below them to help cover up some rock dings I got from mowing my yard. I would like to remove these as well. Does anybody know if those otc ding removers are worth a darn or not?

I bought one of those as seen on TV dent removers to take a dent out of a car and the claim of removing dents is false. I spent 2 hours and wasted almost all of the supplies. They are not worth the money for me.

hey thanks for the input. anybody else have any experience with such products. Maybe I just need to pull the stuff off and just have an estimate done on repairing the little dings I have.

The tools for dent repair are fairly simple. What isn't simple is the technique. I repair leather & cloth car interiors for a living and run accross dent guys every day. It's all about experience. The ones that are quick & do good work have done thousands of dents. Don't expect to just get a tool & do it yourself the first time.

I have a "Ding King" and it does a good job of getting out dings that are smaller than a quarter. Sometimes it takes a couple of "pulls" but it gets out most of the ding. If you get one, don't be in a hurry to pull the dent out. You can over stretch the metal.

Most consumer testing of those do it yourself kits proved it isn't that easy and sometimes the kits did more harm than good.

I can tell you that I checked around and a local paintless repair shop had a good reputation - I took my car in there right before I traded it. They charged me the minimum ($75) and fixed three nasty dings in the driver's door in 40 minutes. It looked flawless.

Well worth the money, IMO. You might check around for a paintless repair shop local to you.
