Hello everyone,

I am new here. Me and the wife just purchased our second Trailblazer, an 05 model. Very pleased with the first TB, but at the time we had no kids and still going to school so my wife thought it was too much vehicle for her so we traded in for a malibu (biggest mistake of our lives). Now with the Employee discount we were able to get our TB (we have baby now so the xtra room was needed) again, because of the negative equity on the trade we were not able to get the 4wd model though.

here is my questions.

Has anyone here lifted their 2WD?

What tire combination did you use?

Is the lift worth it for a 2WD that will be used on very mild off-roading?

My wife does mostly city driving and I will be taking it to fishing trips where the roads aren't too treacherous. It seems to me that the 05 models are lower than the 02 from what I remember so I was looking at doing a 3" lift and maybe 30-31 inch tires, maybe smaller.

Welcome aboard! There are a couple of threads available about lifting a TB. You can find them at the forums section under brakes and suspension. Enjoy your new TB.

First off welcome :)

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I think your 2wd has the same suspension setup as the 4wd. Which the selection is limited at this time. There is a company named SuspensionMaxx www.suspensionmaxx.com which produces a couple different sized spacer lifts, I run their 1.5" lift. Our platform however could be lifted with a spacer or new spring to around 2"-2.5" I feel with no problems. The angles on my UCA's and half shafts (which you will not have the half shafts) are stock looking after the lift, and could stand another inch with no side affects like premature wear :m2: You may want to sinder their lift for the time being because it is very inexpensive.

I think within the next year, some suspension companies will start to produce more lift options for us. Just something to think about.

I have the MAxx lift too but do wish it was a bit more. I think the front spacers are capable of being stacked together to combine for more lift(in the front anyhow) I am looking for something to increase the rear though

I had thought about stacking the small spacer with my large spacer. I would nit suggest though, I would try and find a lift coil to combine with it. Another 1 to 1.5 inch would be perfect. That is why I think the CustomMotorSports has their 3 inch spacer lift, with no known issues. :undecided
