Yeah, yeah... i know, another Poorboys recommendation. Works well for me. Just spray on a cloth, wipe, and buff off. :m2:

I've never heard of this brand, nor seen it anywhere except in this forum. Is it new? Can you buy it in stores? It seems to get a lot of praise here...

You always seem to beat me to it. I use this stuff too. I am actually doing a test on my Trailblazer with it right now. My door handles were fading out and had some wax build up on them. I did half of my door handle with it, and left the other half as it was. I want to see how long it lasts. Well after 2 weeks and tons of rain, it is still black. Good stuff.

Also, to get wax off, I use this too......not as much as the Poorboys trim restorer though....

I find Poorboys to work pretty good... and they smell great too!

Here is my TB that has been detailed last week. The running boards and the side moulding where detailed using Trim Restorer.

Engineers and/or designers at auto manufacturers who haphazardly sprinkle flat black plastic trim in areas that are prone to getting wax on them should be beaten about the head and neck daily until it is no longer possible for them to continue this dreadful tradition.

Paint it, chrome it, or make it glossy black so it can be waxed. Or get beaten. Period.

It's funny you guys brought this up. At our SoCal meet at the lake I did a small demostration on removing the wax build-up and fading of the black door handles and etc. I did the example on JJ's rear door. I used a carnuba wax, applied directly on the spots, rubbed it in, buffed it out and applied some leather conditioner and wah la, back to new. Nice shinny and good as new. Ask JJsryd his opinion of the demo. His handle should still looks good.

JJsRYD? Whos JJsRYD? I dont know anybody named JJsRyd. Oh Wait, Your talking about me. :D Yes. the door handle still lookes great. That stuff that DNTNVME used on it works great. Now i need to do the other 3 to match the first one.

Sounds odd, but I've used WD-40 on my golf cart to remove wax from black plastic that seems to be about the same stuff thats on my trailblazer. I haven't tried it on my tbzr yet; however, i'm not going to be hesitant to give'r a whirl. That would be use number 3,204,083 for WD-40.

read on another forum that peanut oil works really well. havent tried it but im looking for something to clean my trim with. might be a real good cheap way to clean them.

OMFG, :iagree: 10000%!!

Nothing I hate more than flat black parts that you can't do anything with.

I'm glad my TB has painted handles etc and that the black on the sides of the rear glass is shiny so I can wax it.

How does the Poorboy's stuff compare to using Trim Shine?

:iagree: If you just want to get the wax off, any parts house has a plastic bristled brush like an oversized toothbrush. Just keep it off the paint.

Back to Black works well for me. You don't need to use a lot of it. My bottle should last about another 40 years or so before I run out.

I tried vinegar, windex and a tooth brush with ok results. MY TB had real bad wax on the trim and I don't remember touching the trim with wax that many times. Is it possible that the existing wax on the TB is running? I used Megs NXT wax.

It probably wasn't the wax running, unless it was extremely warm. Its more likely that it was on the trim and relatively clear so you don't see it until it dried. The Poorboy's World Trim Restorer (http://www.detailedimage.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=62&products_id=144) is great at removing old wax and leaves the surface with a nice and bold shine.
