I'm looking for feedback on what you have experienced for MPG increase with a performance chip installed when towing. I have an 04 Envoy XUV 4X4 with a 4.2 L I6 engine. For normal highway driving, I get between 18-20 MPG, but when I'm towing my enclosed 2000 lb trailer, my MPG drops to 9-11. Ouch!?!?!?!?! Any info about what chip you used and what increase you got would be appreciated.

Generally installing a chip or tune reduces your ability to tow. In fact, with the tune I have, its not recommended that I tow at all.

Well, partially true man. If you get a tune from Westers, Wait4me, etc, you can either have it be a race tune or a tune that maxes power plus gives you better towing. I doubt a tune would help your mileage because once you have the newfound power you cant stay off the gas.

As for a chip, I would not recommend any of them for our trucks. A tune is a little more expensive but is much better suited for your application. If you want a towing tune, Westers can change settings when they make your tune and you will be able to tow better.
