This may have been discussed before, but I did not see it recently.
Here it goes.
My wife got out of the TB and left the keys in the ignition. The problem was that she did not turn the keys to the off position. They were in the run position but the engine was off. We were having a yard sale and were near the TB so no worries about leaving the keys in the TB. Well, after about an hour, I wanted to move the TB and I could not get it to start - DEAD!! The other thing was, I could not remove the keys from the ignition. The keys were stuck in the Run position and would not click back to remove them!
Long story short, we looked all through the manual and nothing!! So, I called the Chevrolet Place and they said to jump start the TB and the keys would come out. Well, I used a jump box and as soon as I got it some power, the keys came out! The other weird thing was the battery charged right uponce I got it started as if it had never been dead!
The TB ran like crap for about a day, it hesitated at take off and acted like it was going to die. After a day of driving all was well. I had the battery checked and the alternator, all was good.
So, do not leave your keys in the ignition in the run position because they will not come out if the battery dies.
I am assuming that the TB was re-learning itself after the battery died and the CPU reset.
Since then, I have disconnected the battery and installed the Volant CAI - No problems.
I just thought it was a strange security feature for the TB to lock our keys in with no way to remove them.
Here it goes.
