In general chat I could see it being ok to talk about anything. But, I would not take it anywhere but in this section :m2: This is still a, lets see if I get this right the first time, a Chevy, GMC, Saab, Isuzu, Olds, Buick forum  :)

Sure, you can talk about anything. That is what the General Chat section of the forum is for, so it's fine.

I think most of us here are car/SUV enthusiasts so talking about other cars is a great idea. We just need to respect each other opinions, especially when it comes to something that is very subjective such as looks.

Well we have that cleared out:)
I'm thinking of buying a new car, Am looking into G35 Sedan or the 350Z. I dont really like the G35 2 dr, so thats why i'm going for the Sedan. I dont know if i'll be allowed to buy a brand new one or second hand. I know they will be changing the design for the G35 in comming years, does anyoen know which year the design will change? I dont wanna wast my money n then find out the current G35 i have is old! I was also looking at 05 maxima's but that car is too heavy. I'm trying to stick to 4 door cuz i'm pretty sure my dad wont allow me to drive 2d. his always saying "Manbir, how many times did i tell you....your too small to be rolling in black" u hv no idea how many times he says that front of my friends. but am sure his kidding around, well i hope he is:(
Please give me your feedbacks.

Thanks
Manbir

Edit:
About the GTO, i dont think its out in Canada!!!!

In my make beleive world, my weekend car is either a 2dr G35 or an SL55... (the SL costs a little more)

The G35 gets my vote. We have two at work, I drool over them each day, one black, one silver. The 350z is nice, just a little to younger person sport compact to me thing to me. :undecided

I went to look at a GTO on St Pattrick's Day and drove home in my Cadillac CTS V. I know big difference in price, but the extra standard features make up for it, along with the brand name and that it has 4 doors. I thought about the C6 vette also but insurance was double that what the CTS V is and of course it has two doors. I have noticed that the V is a sleeper. Most people think it has a V-6 (It has the 400hp LS6) with a 6 speed manual. Its performance numbers are usually higher than the GTOs by a slight margin (3.73, vs 3.42 gears in the rear) but slightly slower than the C6 vette (600 lbs heavier).

I have attached 2 pics. The first is on top of Logan Pass in Utah, the 2nd in Death Valley.

I'm a car nut so I like anything with decent performance. SRT series for Chrysler, GTO, Vette, V series, Mustang, european cars and a few Asian cars.
Although I love good old American pushrod V-8s.

And yes I still have my 03 TB EXT V-8. My wife drives it mostly although I use it for ski trips.

That's because lots of people do the CTS-V fascia and grille swap on their base CTSs. I see a bunch of 'em running around here with the smaller stock CTS wheels and everything else (badging included) decked out as if it were a "V."

:duh:

(Oh wait.... I can't talk too loud since I put OEM Denali parts on my SLE....) :raspberry

Yes! The V is my daily driver. My TB is my wife's vehicle. I love both of the vehicles for different reasons.

The STI is a sharp vehicle also. It definitely has excellent performance year round.

After I realized that I really love old American pushrod V-8 motors, my choices became limited. I just came back from California with my V and the Sierra Nevadas never felt so flat.

The Grand Prix GXP is probably another car I would consider. I keep telling the wife she needs to get a TB SS when it comes out but she is very happy with her EXT.

Manbir,

Here's my daily driver. It's the perfect family car. 4 doors, all wheel drive, and big Brembo brakes for safe stopping. I suppose 0-60 in 5 seconds is a safety thing too ....... for safe mergers into traffic :) . I agree with Dave, anything with performance is cool. I've actually bought GM all my life except I could not find anything in their stable to fit the bill when I bought this car. All wheel drive and fast were the key (er, safety like I told my wife). The Pontiac Vibe was the only GM choice at the time and that just didn't do it for me. I think the Big Three are starting to do the AWD thing with their cars more now.

The Trailblazer is actually my wife's daily driver.

i love having a sleeper car. most people down in florida are morons so they assume since i'm an asian guy, i got a grand am and stuck GTO decals all over the cars. or they think it's a cavalier.

i've heard it all, even from the announcer at bithlow drag strip. "now pulling up in lane 1 is a cavalier... oh wait. is that a new GTO? no it's gotta be a cavalier. it's paired up with a mustang."

http://www.mpedrick.net/gallery/albums/jlee/DSC00115.sized.jpg

doesn't look like a cavalier to me...

I'd rather grab a Bonneville GXP while there are still new ones around. I like the styling better and the extra room is great with a fullsize sedan. I agree totally about the V8 enjoyment; personally while I could tolerate FWD, I'd really rather have RWD based stuff (which means I'll always be buying Trucks or "Truck SUVs" or muscle cars of some sort). :m2:

I actually lked the Grand Prix GXP better than the Bonnie GXP. Bonnie just didn't handle that well, too soft for my tastes. Still a nice car though.

I prefer RWD (or AWD) in a car also. For trucks or SUVs I rather have 4 wheel drive (look where I live).

GTO is a nice car. I hope GM doesn't kill it in a couple years since the zeta platform is being axed. (Along with the proposed 07 Camaro)

I still can't see how it looks like a cavalier, OR a grand am. Some folks are just stupid, or perhaps just mean.If you had ever been to Bithlo, FL, you wouldn't be suprised. The name even sounds redneck, "Bithlo". Although, the way orlando is expanding, the yokels are getting over-run by subdivisions.

I prefer the rwd 2 seater types:

What about the Scion tC? Those aren't that expensive (base model) and have lots of potential for growth. :m2:

The Scion tc is a great car. You can get one for about 15-16 grand. Plus its basically a toyota so you more than likely wont have any problems

As for other cars, I absolutely love my moms mustang. For the dollar it is the best IMO

We took it to the dragstrip a couple weeks ago and saw a 13.6~ quarter the first run and a 13.5~ the second. Note this is a stock 5 speed AUTO mustang gt for 26,000-28,000 no markup.

I'm not a fan of the xb box, but the tcs are pretty hot, I saw one in a car audio mag all pimped out and was really impressed.
I saw a stang this weekend, gt with very nice looking body kit, exhaust, rims, custom paint, racing stripe, however someone sideswiped him and his door was pretty damaged. Very sad to see..

I like the Lexus IS300...I had one before, those things are sweeeeet. Did 145MPH down Alligator alley in FL, and I used to race up on the Berlin Tpke. I hear they redesigned it for 2006, and I think they switched to a V-6 :duh: instead of the old I-6 Supra engine it came with before :worried: . Sounds backwards to me. But I am a biiig Vette fan...one day...one day. Actually almost every car I have had was RWD and a I-6. My 2001 Lexus IS300 I-6, my 1989 Jeep Wrangler 4.2L I-6, and my Trailblazer 4.2L I-6...but I love my 96 Hyundai Accent 2dr.
