View Full Version : Funny kill story

I'm going to preface this by saying that the story is funny because of the car (read "minivan") that I was racing.

I was on I-76E (PA Tpk) coming back from my mother-in-law's house in Ohio. I'm in PA at this point, and a little more than halfway home when I see a new Toyota Sienna in my rearview. I'm in the right hand lane and he's in the left. There is a semi in my lane a few hundred feet ahead of me, so I accelerate a little bit and move over in front of the Sienna to get around the semi. I did not cut him off by any means.

So I tuck back into the right hand lane and he stays in the left. I'm about 2 or 3 car lengths ahead for the next few miles. For some reason, I've been keeping my eye on him the whole time. Then as we approach a farily long steep hill, I see his front bumper rise slightly as he punches it to get ahead of me. Not willing to let him do a ricer fly-by, I punch it too. I didn't even downshift. I'm still in Drive, with the A/C on, going up a hill, with my wife, 2 kids, and our seemingly endless supply of gear from our weekend trip. And I still walked on him and finally shut it down around 95 mph when he was about 20 car lengths back or so. He followed me for the next 20-30 miles and stayed right behind me. He didn't even attempt to pass. Every time I changed lanes, he was right behind me. At one point, he even cut somebody off to tuck back in the right lane behind me. :weird:

I know I have a 6000 lb EXT with the small 4.2L, but I still had to represent. ;)

Good kill Matt. I always seem to find a few "racing buddies" on the way down to San Diego from LA. Sometimes if I hold myself back and only do 80, people will freaken fly by me. My dumbazz just can't let that happen?

Maybe you're forgetting. YOU HAVE THE 5.3L WITH A WESTERS. I know that thing can move. For the love of God, toast those guys, Drew. I'm still mad I didn't get the V8. Screw the gas mileage.

Great Kill matt, I experienced the same thing coming home yesterday from SD. There was a guy rollin by himself in a Mirage, silver, droppped, exhaust muffler, tinted windows, and black wheels. Kept on stairring at me with a sneaky look in his eyes. I continued to keep my flow, when all of a sudden there was a big break in the lane, and the question was who was going to get it? So I mashed on the gas, and he mashed on the gas, as I saw him making his moving, I pushed on the padel just a little more, and this addidtional passing gear I have never used before kicked in. I couldn't believe the power of the TV with the 22's on it. It snugged the road and handle like a dream. Killed him of course. That little extra smash gave me the power I was looking for. After he realized I wasn't having that. He jumped in line and followed until we departed.

Perhaps I am not reading this right. If someone wanted passed you and you continued to block him, why did you not let him pass? I hate this crap. I am on the highway, someone is in the left lane and I want by and they continue driving in the left lane. I go to pass in the right lane, and then they decide to floor it.

Word to the wise...don't play chicken with me because I will win every time. I have run two people off the road who pulled this crap with me. I accelerate, change lanes, get ahead and if you accelerate, I will change lanes and run you off the road.

If the guy in the Van was really trying to race, that's a different story, but if you continued to block him for miles, why are you being like that?

I guess I just see it differently.

Or maybe you just can't read.

He chose to stay behind me after we raced. I wanted him to attempt another fly-by so I could laugh at him.

He followed me for the next 20-30 miles and stayed right behind me. He didn't even attempt to pass. Every time I changed lanes, he was right behind me. At one point, he even cut somebody off to tuck back in the right lane behind me. :weird:

I don't see the word blocking anywhere. And if you ever ran me off the road, it would be the last time you ever did that to anyone. :o

Sorry, I misread it. I thought you were blocking him from getting through.

Around here, it seems to happen alot that I am behind someone in the passing lane doing the speed limit and blocking me from going around. I try to pass them and they floor it to prevent it. After two attempts, I just play stupid and change lanes and make them hit the brakes. I act like I don't even see them. It's one thing for a car to make a mistake, but to play chicken and purposely not let someone pass, even when going slow is just stupid. I read and just assumed that's what you were doing. I apoligize for jumping over you.:worried:

It's okay. Sorry for jumping on you in return. I have anger management issues lately.

Speaking of which, I got rearended lightly Thursday night. You should have seen me jump out of the truck ready to beat somebody. I need to find a healthy outlet for all of this mean energy and general ill will.
