Well, I've posted and it got deleted so it must be me..right? My rant is about customer service (or lack thereof) for Vector. I've sent alot of questions to Chris about ordering a tune/cai combo. Some of my questions get answered but some did not. Everytime I try to set up an apt. to get the tune done(i can wait for the cai like everyone else/also im local) I get were gonna be out of town/busy. Is Chris and Kirk over there head on this one? I've wanted the tune for a month now and I feel like i keep getting blown off. This is not good for a business. I keep reading all these threads about how great there customer service is and how great there tune is. I wouldn't know because I've been sittin here waiting/playin PM tag with chris. So whats the deal guys? I've got my hard earned cash in hand wantin to spend it on a tune and I can't because of the communication. I hope im just a rare case( i must be, look at all the "Another satified Vector customer" threads)So whats up? IMO its not right to delete someones thread just cause it makes you look bad. Mods, if you did delete my post I apologize to you and Vector. Hope my lack of sleep isn't to apparent.

I'm not to sure the reasons for their lack of responses to you, but i will say that MANY on this site and other SITES OF THIS NATURE use Vector Tunes. I have read that their extremely busy and can't always respond right away to everyone. Maybe you should take a chill pill and not bad mouth them and you might get better feedback. I have written to them once and didn't get a response for a week, but that doesn't mean im going to start a thread about how they didn't take the initiative to write me back. In this line of work or any work for that nature when you have a product that everyone uses, wants, or needs its called PATIENCE. If you don't have that then you need to find another source for your business. Again not to sure the story on their end, but relax and give them time. They recently have been busy and i don't even know them, i read it all on here.

Chris and Kirk are going nuts right now, they were the first to tune the TB SS and have just begun to tune the Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky, so they have been extremely busy. Give them a chance and bend a little man.

Believe me man, I've been nice. I've been patient. I've given them the benifit of a doubt. So if me being nice to them get me this kind of feedback. IM GONNA F'N RANT. Unless you got another refill of "chill pills"? Im just hoping this isn't "signs of things to come". Communication is key here, so Im just lettin everyone know whats the deal. In case someone else is havin problems like me...
I guess i'll have to wait to be a customer to use the phrase "The customer is always right"

I jus asked a simple question! I don't care if you have 2 posts or 5 thousand. One thing you will learn is when you badmouth a person in here or an actual company you will get negative responses. So if i were you i would re-think about what you said about VMS and jus be patient like others have also advised. I would hate for them to read what you said and you send them your unit and your truck runs likes a Beetle.

I hear what your sayin man. I would hope Vector would be more mature about that(A beetle would suck!!). I figured I would get flamed cause they do have a pretty good name on this board(and others) so everyones out to kill the messenger instead of hearin my rant. When all I really want is to get the tune already. Its just been a headache to get an appointment up at there shop. I guess ill just get back to wiring my swap in my subaru. At least that will get my mind off of things for a while(a looooong while).
Chris, PM me whenever your not too busy and lets set something up(that is if your goin to sell me a tune now:D ) now that I got your attention...You know what days are good for me.
Later,

You just need to sit back and relax a bit...Chris is very busy and he'll get to you.
The poor guy is so busy with work that he doesn't even have time to hang out with his friends, let alone trying to tune a high % of the latest GM made vehicles. (Corvette's,Solstice,Sky,TBSS,Camaro,GTO,Grand Prix,G-6, All GM Trucks......)
I think you get my point. All of these groups want his attention just as bad as we do.
What other company flies all over the country to tune thier customers cars for no extra charge? What other company will take a day or two out of their personal vacation to tune customers cars?
I'm Chris's friend and I haven't even seen him in weeks.
Just be re-assured that you will be very happy when you get the tune. (Even if it takes a while).

I believe Chris and Kirk have been on the road doing tunes and other company relation things. You will get a response I promise you this. I also promise you the wait if well worth it. Once you get the tune and CAI you wont even remember the wait. I do know Chris was here in DE visting Family for the holiday and also took time from that to do some work, bout 5 hours worth on Saturday, which He did not have to do. Trust me when I say Both Chris and Kirk do value their customers and their feedback. I hope this helps is some way or another.

Let me back Chris up as well. It's not all entirely car related, but as evidence to Chris's work and communication demands, the man has MAXED OUT his AIM software. He has reached the limit that AIM will allow for buddy connections. I believe the last time AOL audited the system, Chris was in their TOP 10 for connections/buddys!! The man has two widescreen monitors (both over 20") on his PC as well. :hail:

Ok I had to go back in my PM history three weeks just to make sure (I'm posting from my phone everyone else that has PM'ed me in the last two days I'll get back to you tomorrow when I'm back in MI) but I dont have any PM's from you nor do I exactly know who you are. Someone did Email me (the name escapes me and again I'm on my phone not my desktop) about getting a tune late in the week two weeks ago when both Kirk and I were out of town and then again late this past week when I was out (and still am) on the East coast.
We WILL be able to fit you in this week for sure but like I said we were both gone the times you wanted to come in, sorry.

I can only state my experience - every phone call was returned within an hour (even on a Saturday!) and every PM was responded to within a couple of hours.
That being said, I understand they might have some new ways of being contacted (I think I saw a post about using a new email address) and occasionally things might change when they are out and about (everyone deserves time off).
I get paid to be on call 24 x 7 on a rotation with 3 other people, and I know how exasperating it can be sometimes when people claim to have issues about you not responding but a little investigation doesn't support their claims.
Can't say enough good things about Chris and Kirk...

I can only imagine how busy they are right now. I think I will wait until winter to tune mine for this reason.

That, or go with a company that isn’t so busy and having such a hard time keeping up with demand.

As long as your truck is still running without the tune, I'd much rather wait for a VMS tune than go with anyone else's tune.

Being a small business owner myself, I can feel Vector's pain. We are experiencing similar growth issues and I can tell you there is nothing that pains a business owner more than seeing customers get upset because you are so busy that a few things slip through the cracks.
Small Business owners are generally perfectionists as well, which doesn't help. It makes it difficult to respond and say "I'll get back to you" when what you want to be able to do is solve the problem they came to you for in the first place and do it RIGHT NOW...
I hope you cut Vector a little slack. They've installed some new customer support practicies and software and from my view are really trying to respond to the growth. I'm just as anxious as the next guy for my CAI, but hey, the reality is they are pretty much the only game in town for tunes in my book, and my experience so far with my VMS tune has been that it is worth the minor issues that may crop up in customer service.
So try to understand that they are growing and this stuff happens time to time. You don't get to be a big name company without a little growing pains to go along with the process!
