Hi

My exterior thermometer in my 03 LTZ has been stuck on 10 degrees Celsius (Canadian model) for about a week. Regardless of the outside temperature, this display remains the same.

The rest of my auto climate system appears to be working as normal and I can set or display any temp on the inside.

Has this happened to anyone else? Does anybody know how to "reset" or fix this?

Thanks in advance

Doug

You need a new sensor. If you are under warranty they can fix it real quick, if not they dont cost to much and are behind the grill in the middle.

Does any one know where you can get this from the internet, or do I need to go to the dealership.

No the temp is for the outside air which is displayed in the rearview mirror.

On models without digital climate controls. The manual climate has the temp in the mirror, digital is in the climate control unit.

The part is pretty cheap, I would suggest going to the dealer unless you want to wait a long time to replace it as GMPD takes forever and has ridiculous shipping charges.

Uh oh. Did I just remove the wrong part? I pulled what I thought was the exterior temperatre sensor. It has the following part number on it:

15035786

Any help?

Darn I shredded the paper with the part number... Anyway I bought it replaced it and finally the outside temp shows Ok!!
It used to drop from -35 to +10...

You can't go wrong with changing that sensor.

Can someone describe exactly where this sensor is located at? Is the wiring there for the LS? I have an 05 LS and I did the interior rearview mirror swap so I have compass and temp. Is the mod simply buying the switch and pluging it in (if you don't have one in the first place like me). Anybody done this already and have a picture of this ?

Temp sender is located behind the grille on the drivers side.

You would have to run wire to a sender at the front, pretty sure it isnt wired up on TBs that dont have it from the factory.

Where did you take the part off? Front of the car.
