To all that removed your resatator, i would like to ask a few questions befor i take mine off. Is there alot of popping, if any at all? How much louder is it from stock? And is it done for performance or more for a better sound? I'm looking for a louder sound, with some performance, without the popping. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!:undecided

Removed my resonator and replaced stock muffler with Magnaflow (18" body). No popping at all, slight drone around 2000 rpm but nothing nearly as bad as I've heard in the past on friend's Mustangs with Flowmasters though.

I just took mine off 2 weeks ago, and I love it. Its great if you just want a little more sound. Its a super cheap mod and you will be happy with the result. There is a little drone around 2k rpm, but even there its not bad at all. I got it done while my girlfriend was on vacation. She came back and didn't even notice that anything had been done.

Replace your OEM muffler with a Magnaflow 5X11X22 C/O and keep the resonator on. You will get louder sound some performance and no popping.

How much $ does a Magnaflow 5X11X22 muffler go for? Did you order yours straight from magnaflow? After next weeks tune I am looking into a replacment muffler.

I got my magnaflow from local parts store. Around $100.00. I have the magnaflow 5X8X24 that I used for less than one week in the for sale threads.

Do you happen to know if adding a single muffler will void any factory warranty? I know that a full exaust system might do it, but I am not sure about a muffler.

An exhaust system from the cat(s) back is ok, will not void warranty from GM. Single or dual ok.

Great I appreciate the input.. I want to get more sound out of it, and I think that is the way to go after the CAI and K&N is put in.
