I am planning on towing my 95 Grand Prix 2 dr with a U-haul Tow dolly about 1350 miles with my 06 4x4 Trailblazer. Other than using a ton of gas does anyone see a problem doing this?

Just make sure you hook up the tow chains, dont wanna loose it, Your truck, should have no problems doing that. i towed there largest uHaul 700+ miles, doing round 80... I had no problems. It uses alot a fuel though:eek:

Going that far, make sure you have lights on the back of the car and not just the lights on the little tow dolly.

All your fluids, lubes and brakes should be 100% seeing as it's a 2006! :) Only thing I'd do is drop the floor shifter down into 3rd on inclines if the trans hunts around in/out of OD. Your TB wont even know that dolley/mid-sized car is back there!

Give the UHaul a good look over before you go anywhere. I have gotten some pretty crappy units from them in the past. Also tire pressure is important when towing. I usually add a few psi's.

You should be fine, I just got back last night (at midnight, grrrr.. ) from my cabin and I towed my Toyota Epic 22 back. 330ish miles and was monitoring coolant and trans temp with EFILive. Never went out of decent range, but got a little hot going up the Vantage Hill (expected, 10mi hill at like 5% grade the whole way). Towed in D for 80% of the way, dropped it into 3 only when going up hills and going up the Pass.

Still tows like a dream compared to my old 96 GMC Jimmy, every time I tow it reminds me that I was really smart to not get another Jimmy/Blazer in 02 when I bought my TB.

I drove from Louisville, Ky, to detroit michigan, picked up a eclipse gsx and a uhaul trailor, and towed it back with no major probs. I have a 4.2 and it did fine until hills, then it worked hard. Overall not too bad. Also, the suspension is too soft and your ass end will squat, and sway in wind, nothing too bad though.

Not bad, I towed a 4000 lb uhaul trailer from mobile alabama, to las vegas nevada. through everything plains of texas to the mtns of flagstaff arizona
xept it in three the entire way, I got around three hundred miles to a tank, of gas and i have a 4.2. towed real good a little ragged up hills but it still did good
