Hi all,

Got an '02 Envoy SLT with 43k miles. Bought it new. No major problem other than mirrors not flipping down as advertised.

But this week, the transmission started slipping this week. Stealer says its out of warranty. Wondering what others with tranny problems has done. Rebuild? New? Any idea on cost?

Did you check the fluid level? Low fluid will cause slippage.

43Kmi is an awefully early death of a 4L60E! I'd suck out as much ATF as I could get out of the dipstick tube (with a hand pump & flexible plastic tube), or pull a cooler line, start the truck & let the trans pump itself out. Then add new ATF. Drive it to see if the symptoms go away. If good, do a pan drop & filter change & call it good. If she still slips, not much you can do aside from swap out the trans. Cant say you didn't try!

Keep driving it.. Ours started slipping probably around 50k.... I have a new one sitting here, but haven't had a chance to put it in... We have 120k on it now.. Doesn't slip any worse, and sometimes even feels better...
