I just ordered the catback system for mine today. My dealer told me as long as I don't mess with anything between the engine and converters the warranty will not be a problem. The only problem is Stainless Works told me it will be about 3 to 4 week before I get the catback system.

Ya that much i know, what im wondering is if something goes wrong with the truck, will they void my warranty if I do headers? Isnt it that they have to prove the non OEM part caused the failure to deny warranty work? Im not sure....my z28 was out of warranty when i started messin with it...........

I have SW's headers on my '02 Firehawk. 430rwhp/393rwtq thru the FACTORY catback...!

On my Firehawk, the fit and finish is excellent; I gained ~43rwhp & 36rwtq from just the longtube headers & tune. (and this was when the car had a baby LS6 cam, stock heads). Mandrel bends, thick flanges, thickwalled tubing, and 304L stainless steel so they'll easily outlast the life of the vehicle itself.

My headers for the SS are on order. I expect nothing less in terms of their quality and workmanship than what I received with my FBody headers.

Warranty - correct, any longtube header installed will void your OEM powertrain warranty...unless you have a VERY forgiving dealership. Mod at your own risk. A good rule of thumb: If you're still under factory warranty & you can't afford to fix it yourself (if something breaks...), then don't mod it.

That whole warranty thing sucks..lol I could afford it, just dont know if I want to or not. The dealership I bought the SS from is into high performance cars......maybe I'll just give my service rep a what if scenario....see what he says

Thanks for the info! Very helpful to know that they are a quality product!

I had headers on my last car and never had any problems with the warranty. I never had any major drivetrain problems or anything to serious, but I showed my service guy when I got them and he said I shouldn't have any problems.

The GM Warranty Rep has a lot of authority on matters such as this. Some dealers don't get visited by the regional rep very often. Those are good dealerships to go to since they aren't as concerned about doing work and getting caught covering something that shouldn't be. Or... Hope the regional rep is a cool cat into high-performance vehicles. There are a few of them out there who are pretty lenient.

I think there are a few brands of headers that will not void the warranty. However, I don't know of any for the TBSS. Cat-back only systems should not be a problem.

Yes, the warranty thing is BS. And technically, according to the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act, it is up to the manufacturer to prove the aftermarket part caused whatever failure. But bucking GM on a warranty black-ball is pretty damn tough to do.

I try to stay with mods that are borderline or can be easily removed before going to a dealer. But that leaves a lot to be desired considering I want a ProCharger on my SS right now. But I know if I should pop an LS2, I would not easily be able to afford to replace it.

Headers will not void your powertrain warranty, period. They can deny your claim if they think the aftermarket parts caused a factory part failure. If your worried about the warranty though, you should not be playing with your vehicle at all. If your not prepared to replace your engine, tranny, or driveshaft, don't modify the vehicle to a point where this could become an issue.
