View Full Version : 2'/3' Chrome Hitch Step For Rear Of Vehicle

Does anyone have one of these for their Envoy or TB? I'm thinking of getting one and would love to see how it looks vehicle specific. I have a billet grille, chrome wheels, and chrome running boards. I think it would be a nice looking addition to the truck. Then again, it could be too much chrome? Please post any pics or give me your thoughts.
Take at look:

i think it would look nice. I was thinking about getting one for my moms TB so she can reach the roof when we she washes her car.

It does look nice! I was just checking out someones red Envoy on Car Domain that has it. But I realized the $$$ would be wasted b/c I could no longer see out of my rearview cam if i did it. It is custom mounted underneath the bumper several inches to the right. The camera could be mounted differently but I don't know if I want it all that bad.

yeah that would suck to have to replace something like that. I'm sure you'll find something though.

I used to have the black 36" go rhino bar.
Used to because my dumb next door neighbor forgot to set his parking brake and his car rolled into mine.
It saved my bumper cover, but beat up my bar.
Definately recommend getting the same size, not that little one.
Here's a decent pic from the back.

Wow, I like the look of that one you have Blulytes. Looks almost like it was made to fit between the two pillars on the TB back bumper.

I think chrome would look sweet, but it would get in the way of the rearview. Look:

All I usually do is get a little step stool out and use it to hoist myself up onto the rear bumper, and stand on the rubber/plastic pad. :m2: This fold-down step could be like a portable stool for you to use

You've got good taste. I've seen that one before. I'm considering that as well. Not sold on whether I like to have the ball, installed another hitch plug, or just nada. Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

That second one is sweet. It rotates and all. I want to get something like that for my moms TB. Just remember to anyone that buys a hitch cover...go the extra 15 - 30 bucks to buy a hitch lock.

You might want to see if you can get a westin catalog, I know they make side steps, and maybe would have a step for the rear of your truck that exactly matches the grille guard :m2:

Only thing so far I don't like is that it doesn't use a hitch-pin to attach to the reciever. I'm probably going to have to mod that. :m2:

There must be some difference in quality, the Go Rhino is $200+ CDN after tax and delivery.
Im sure the one mentioned from Ebay is less quality, it would end up being like $85+ CDN after tax and delivery.
I need somthing that ppl can almost slam into and it might scratch a lil but wreak there front bumper :D  :D

I would easily say about 8-10... I'll try to reconstruct the accident when I get home. But I will tell you it was loud enough to wake me up in the middle of the night.
I really got it for city parking... dumb people who try to fit into the smallest spots. I would rather have them hit that bar than my bumper.

Your lucky it was your cover.
I was at a Sonics game in 2001 when I still had my Jimmy. It was before I had ever had a problem and invested in a locking hitch pin, and so someone swiped my entire hitch, pin, and ball!! It cost me 50 bucks to replace it, but I spent about $10 more and got a locking pin. Never had a problem since, and I have a bowtie cover for my TB and it uses the locking pin, so I know someone would have to break it off to steal it. Now that I have seen the custom TB ones, I might have in get one eventually.

I had the Twistep on one night when I was on the freeway. We were going downhill and start/stop traffic. We all came to a short stop and a Jeep Liberty hit me probably at least 10 mph. Bent the bottom of the Twistep in one spot, but left a nice little kiss mark on the Li :D berty!

Ask for pics... you get them...
I figured this guy to atleast be going 10 when he hit me.
He was driving (well, nobody was driving it) an Audi A4. Thats right... he got out of his car, and it rolled, driverless into my truck. His car was wedged underneath the rhino bar... pretty funny. He still has a hole in his bumper where the support bracket punctured his nice cover.
