hey all, well ive been looking for a suspension kit to drop my tb...ive found 2 and im not sure which one would be the best to buy...the ones i found are:
Beltech 2" front 3" rear $267
*i have a feeling this would be way too much to put on my car because the roads in kuwait aren't that great and i also have very low profile tyres
Eibach 1.5" front and rear $262
*this kit looks good, but im not sure if it will make that much of a difference to the overall look of my ride
Has anyone here tried and tested these springs? im not looking for handling gains, but they are more just for style, i just bought some 20" rims and need to compliment them.......which springs would not make me lose the comfort the tb already has, i will be buying some new oem shock absorbers because the ones i have have had it..
thanks in advance guys

A lot of people here (including myself) have used GroundForce 1.3"F 3"R spring kits. I'm very happy with them.

There is another kit by McGaughy's. They are alot of good reviews when it comes to their full size drop kits. Their kit runs $249 off of their website.

I bought the Eibach kit and just had it installed Tuesday after waiting more that THREE MONTHS for it to be delivered.
I like it alot. You can definitely see the difference in height. I think it actually changed it by about 1.25". I didn't think it would be much, but it is. There is no way I would want to be lower in the rear. At least in my specific car it would have been much lower in the rear had I gone with anything else.
The kit reduced body roll significantly and with just me or me and my wife in the car, the ride was excellent. I noticed today for the first time though that when there are more than a couple people in the car, the ride is pretty rough. It should probably be bagged if you're going to haul anything.
I had Les Schwab order and install the kit. They did a great job and of course aligned it after they were done. Their price was $100 less than all others I checked. Hmmm....

Where is this place that you can get the Belltech for less than $300? I am going to get the belltech but the best price I saw was on stylinconcepts.com. Where should I go to get a better price?

I wanted GF, but they don't have anything to fit the EXT. Maybe Belltech would work. Might have to call them if you can find them for under $300. :undecided

I know for sure that they will not give me a better price than $300. I bet itwill be around the area of $500. Is there a website that can beat a price of $330?

Anyone have any suggestions for me? I called Ground Force and Eibach and they both had no clue when I told them I have an XUV. They told me they weren't sure of the weight distribution. I wouldn't think it would be any heavier than an XL. In fact, I would think it might be lighter. I really would like to drop it a little so help! :duh:

Do you have the load leveling rear air suspension?
You could always buy a set of the Ground Force springs, try them and sell them if they didn't work out. :undecided

I got a great deal off ebay on my ground force kit. $100.00 plus twenty to ship, brand new! :) I like it alot and the handling is great. I know of another member on here that got the McGaughy's kit installed and it was a mess. I'm sure he will see the thread and give you specifics. The springs were badly twisted and completely compressed wrong. I think they were working out some equipment issues with the kit we use.

If you had the load leveling rear suspension, it would have air bags, no springs in the rear. With your suspension, you are just dealing with replacing the OEM springs with lower aftermarket.

So answering my own question, I called Summit Racing and they quoted me a price of $276.69. Again, this is for the Bell Tech kit. Can anyone beat that price? Anywhere?

I guess I will look into springs for the XL then since mine is longer than a traditional Envoy. Probably call them tomorrow.

The GF kit won't fit my EXT, so chances are it won't fit an XUV either... :(

Matt, you live pretty close to the folks at Ground Force, why not drop in on them and see if you can't be a test case for some springs for the EXT. You might get a set at reduced or no charge. :undecided

Thanks, Bill. I don't know where they're located, but I'll find out. I'm always game to be a guinea pig for a reputable company...
Edit: 1 hr 9 minutes. Guess who's getting an email from Fatty...

DJM Suspension has a lowering kit for the EXT. Summit Racing just put them on sale! It's a 2" drop front and 4" rear. You have to get the kit with new shocks, kit# KS2301-2\4. They are normally $656.00, Summit Racing has them on sale for $459.00! I've been watching the price for awhile and went ahead and ordered one for my EXT.
