in ref to the camshaft actuator solenoid, when removing the solenoid, will this effect the timing or does it affect the tension on the timing belt, or is it a stand alone item? I have talked my mech and he says it might cause the timing to jump a tooth when he removes it. I believe he is comparing it to a Nissan or a Mazda engine. I have read you have to remove the serbetine belt and power steering to remove solenoid. Does it just pull straight out, and then you clean the screens? Any special things to watch for when installing? New Gaskets and torking the bolt? Any help would be appreciated. My veh is 2002 4.2, at idle engine has lot of extra vibration, but when running its smooth. There was a post with a picture a while back and Im still looking for it
    Tks for your time, Rich

On the terribable fuel milage thread you said about disconnecting the battery, do you need to do both sides or is one ok? My truck gets 12-13mpg and its mostly highway speed but alot of stop and go. What else can I do, you seem to be really knowledgable about our trucks!
