I bought my 04 Trailblazer yesterday.
While driving it at night I noticed that the dome lights dont come on when the door opens. and the indicatior for the door open doesnt come one either.
I just went out side to see if I could find the fuse for it to see if it is blown. started looking around and the only fuse box I found was under the hood. Where are the others or is that the only one?
Just to save space and not start another thread since this kind of relates.
I have my driver side reverise light out, along with my dome lights and door open indicator. I changed my reverise light. nothing happened. still doesnt work. are all these compontents in the same circuit? I tried pulling the fuse for the dome lights and couldnt tell if they where blown or not.
Nope, not on the same circuit. If you are concerned the fuse might be blown but you can't see it, swap the suspected fuse with one you know is good, that will help you rule out fuses, and point you in another direction (backtracing wiring :duh
The dome lights might be turned off. Switch by the headlight switch.
If it is a fuse, it's #4, or #40 in the rear fuse panel
The backups are one the same fuse, so the fuse is ok.
The problem is with the rear assembly, a bad bulb, a bad circuit board, or a bad connector (of course, there could be a broken wire, but not high on the list).
The door open indicator may be a burnt out light in the dash.
Is there only the two fuse box`s? I have a 2004 GMC Envoy XUV
