First off, I'm a proud new TB owner. I just traded my 98 Blazer for my 05 TB, so there accouple things that need to be addressed on it. One is the interior dome light. It does not turn on when any of the doors or tailgate is opened, also it doesn't work when you turn the switch to turn the dome light on that dosen't work either. I've pushed the dome over-ride switch multiple times to no avail. The dome lights do work when you manually push them on, does this point to a faulty over-ride switch?
First of all.........welcome to the site.............try this out..........open the drivers side door (leave it open) and press the over ride manual switch........it doesn't work when all the doors are closed...........try that out and go from there! Good luck!!
The power when you push them manually comes from a different path. Look in the rear fuse block for a blown fuse 4 or 40. The schematic isn't clear which path through the BCM is used for the door-activated power path.
Are we talking about one light or all the dome lights? If were talking about one light, maybe the wires wiggled and fell out of the connector to the light? :m2: (Sorry if its badly worded)
I had a very similar problem earlier in the week. In my situation, I had to replace two fuses that were blown. They were TBC4 and one of the other ones labeled TBC (I think either 2 or 3). After I replaced those fuses, my lights started working just fine.
It's not that common, but folks sometimes blow them when plugging in a replacement lamp crooked and get the wires shorted in the connector. Or they try to upgrade to LEDs which are directional, and they don't use a meter and just start guessing. :nono:
