How to replace thermostat in 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada? alternator on drivers side....

Anyone do this yet? I read the how to but it talks about removing the alternator, mine is on the other side. I see the thermostat but canít get at the lower screw due to the power steering pulley, reservoir. Any thoughts and help on how to do this properly? Do I need remove the pulley and everything in its way?
