New and (Historical) Used Blue Book Value
I don't come one much but this seemed like the best place to ask. I need to find the KBB value of a vehicle brand new when purchased(don't have a receipt any more and dealership does not have record from that far back), and I need the KBB value for the vehicle in 2010. I have tried to research, and it seems like the library is my best bet, but I was hopping some one could point me to an on line resource for this information.

Come on guys, no one can help me here? I tried the local libraries in 2 counties(since I live near the county line), and neither had KBB or anything similar.

PharmGirl, I was involved in a bad MVA 2.5 years ago. My truck was pretty much totaled, but I still managed to sell it via craigslist. However, I no longer have any thing indicating the blue book of the truck when it was brand new in 2004, or the KBB value from 2010 when the MVA happened. I have accumulated thousands of dollars in medical bills since the MVA, and this is expected to continue for the foreseeable future. Possibly even beyond that. so I had to file a law suit against the driver(she was driving on a suspended license) and Safe Auto refused to cover her even though they sold her a policy that was valid at the time of the MVA. So I am trying to assist the lawyers office with research.

Thanks, but can he help with a Ford? The vehicle in question was a 2004 Ford Ranger Edge Super Cab. If he can help let me know and I can drop you that PM.
I checkered Consumer Reports, but they want money to(and so does KBB.com for archived info).

Thanks, PM sent! I sent it before your edit though! So write me back and I will drop you an email.
As for Consumer Reports' that would be great, if he can scan it and email that. It's not that I can't afford the cost of a CS or KBB report, it's just I find it ridiculous to pay for this sort of information. If KBB can give me the current value of my vehicle, which is far more useful in most cases, then why can't they give me an archived version for free?

Something else that may work would be using the internet archive:
http://archive.org/web/web.php
I'm sure you could find retail pricing for the vehicle from chevy's website, perhaps even the sticker price on your exact vehicle if you track the dealers website.
Kelly Blue Book probably wont help because using even the dated form would give you a current market price (unless of course you can manipulate KBB's current url market price and pasting it into the archives url - highly unlikely but worth a shot)
